Brent’s South Kilburn regeneration has delivered or started 1,954 homes, and more than 1,600 more are planned. Oven cleaning across Brent starts at £77 for a single oven, done in your own kitchen.

Living and renting in Brent now

Brent had 118,612 households at the 2021 Census, of which 38.4% owned their home, 36.0% rented privately (33.5% straight from a landlord or agency), 23.5% rented socially and 1.9% were in shared ownership. Those borough figures hide two very different ends. Wembley Park ward is almost all flats (99.4% of 2,667 households), and 61.9% of its households rent privately, against 14.0% who own. In Brent’s Kilburn ward, social renting is the largest group at 40.9%, with 33.4% renting privately. Out in the suburbs the picture changes again: 22.3% of Brent households live in semi-detached homes and 6.0% in detached houses, much of it the suburban ‘Metroland’ housing that the council’s heritage page credits to the Metropolitan Railway.

Social renting in South Kilburn is set to stay high. Of the 1,954 South Kilburn homes delivered or under construction, 1,239 (63%) are for social rent, and on 12 October 2026 the council’s Cabinet approved appointing Ballymore for the remaining stages, with more than 1,600 further homes planned over the next 10 to 15 years. All of those homes have kitchens, and their ovens are priced like any other.

Shared houses and their kitchens

Shared houses came under a new borough-wide additional HMO licence on 2 February 2026, lasting until 2 February 2031 unless the council revokes it. It applies where three or four occupiers from two or more households rent privately. In a house shared that way there is usually one oven for everyone, used by every household in turn. Selective licensing covers every ward except Wembley Park as well, starting in August 2023 with three wards (Willesden Green, Dollis Hill, Harlesden and Kensal Green) and extended to the other 18 in April 2024.

The oven clean in a Brent kitchen

Everything happens in the kitchen. The cleaner takes out the racks, trays and shelf supports and soaks them. The cavity, the glass and the seals are cleaned by hand while the parts soak, and the inner door glass comes out for cleaning only where the door design lets it come apart. Once the parts are clean and back in, the oven can be used the same evening. Leave a window open for a while and any smell clears.

Let the oven go cold before the visit, take everything out of the storage drawer, and keep the water and electricity on. More detail on oven types and what counts as a range is on the London oven cleaning page.

Oven cleaning prices across Brent

A single oven is £77, a double £110, a single wide £114 and a 90cm range £143. A ceramic hob is £23, a gas hob £28, a range hob or hood £48 and an extractor £28. Everything else is on the price list.

Booked on its own, a hob or an extractor falls under the £67 that one-off work starts at. Added to an oven clean, the hob is charged at its own price, so an oven and a gas hob together come to £77 plus £28. If the hob needs doing, book the two together.

When there is no free parking on the street, the day’s parking cost is added, never more than £40.

Booking an oven clean in Brent

Fill in the form or ring 020 3734 1438 and tell us the oven’s type and width. We ring back to agree a time between 8am and 7pm, any day of the week, and confirm the price against your kitchen. A 50% deposit secures the slot, and the balance is due once the oven is done.

Parking depends on your zone. Several zones are controlled only in the middle of weekdays, 10am to 3pm, so an early or late visit there falls outside those hours, while zone BV is controlled from 8.30am to 10pm every day. When Wembley Stadium has an event, parking in the event day zone is for permit holders only, so a different date is simpler if you live near the stadium.

Brent end of tenancy and carpet pages

If the home needs more than this, see end of tenancy cleaning in Brent or carpet cleaning for the borough. Moving out of a rented flat? The oven can be added to a Brent end of tenancy clean for £31. For a regular cleaner, see cleaning services in Brent.

The Brent and Camden boundary runs down Kilburn High Road, so part of Kilburn is in Camden; the Camden oven cleaning page covers that side. The other neighbouring boroughs are below.

Questions about oven cleaning in Brent

When can I use the oven again?

The same evening. The parts are refitted before the cleaner leaves, and a window open for a while clears any smell.

Do you clean the oven in a shared house?

Yes. The price depends on the oven (single, double, single wide or range), however many tenants share it. Landlords can book it between tenants so the next household starts with a clean oven.

Is the door taken apart?

Only where the design lets the inner door glass come apart. If it cannot, the glass that can be reached is cleaned by hand and the door stays in one piece.

Can you come on a Wembley Stadium event day?

We can, but restrictions in the event day zone run until midnight, from 8am on the main roads to the stadium and generally from 10am elsewhere outside controlled zones. Pick another day if you can.

Do you cover Harlesden, Willesden and Wembley?

Yes, the whole borough. Postcodes.io shows NW10 alone spanning ten Brent wards, including Harlesden and Kensal Green, Stonebridge and Willesden Green, and HA9 covering Wembley Central, Wembley Hill and Wembley Park.

I rent in Wembley Park. Should I book the oven before I move out?

If you are booking an end of tenancy clean anyway, add the oven to it for £31. If not, a single oven on its own is £77, and it is usable again that evening.

Ring 020 3734 1438 and say whether it is a single, double or range.
