With 86.6% of Camden households living in flats, the oven is usually in a flat’s kitchen, and that is where we clean it, by hand, from £77 for a single oven.
Everything happens in your kitchen. The removable parts soak there while the oven itself is cleaned by hand, and you can cook with it again that evening.
The oven clean, step by step
- Switch the oven off an hour or two before the cleaner arrives, so it is cool to work on.
- Racks, trays and shelf supports come out and go into a soak.
- The cavity is cleaned by hand: roof, back, sides and floor.
- The door glass and the seals are cleaned by hand. The inner pane comes out only where the door design lets it come apart.
- The soaked parts are cleaned and go back in.
- The oven is usable the same evening, and a window open for a while clears any smell.
A hob or an extractor added to the booking is cleaned on the same visit. Keep the water and electricity on, and clear the worktop beside the oven so the parts have somewhere to go.

On its own or with a move-out clean
Tenants make up a large part of Camden, with 35.6% of households renting privately, and a tenant facing a check-out can book the oven in two ways. Booked on its own, a single oven is £77 and a double £110, on any day the kitchen can spare it. Added to an end of tenancy clean in Camden, the same single oven is £31, and a double or a 90cm range £62, cleaned by the same method during the move-out visit. The add-on price applies whoever books the end of tenancy clean, tenant or landlord. Owners, and tenants who are staying on, book the oven by itself.
Kitchens in Camden’s flats and shared houses
Census 2021 puts 56.2% of Camden households in purpose-built blocks, 26.2% in flats in converted or shared houses and 2.4% in flats above or within commercial buildings. Terraced houses, semis and detached homes (8.1%, 3.6% and 1.7%) account for most of the rest.
Shared houses carry their own rules. Since 8 December 2025 Camden’s borough-wide additional HMO licence has applied wherever at least three people forming two or more households share a home, and that takes in flats in purpose-built blocks of three or more flats, which the mandatory scheme leaves out. If your house is one of these, its oven is priced like any other, by the appliance, at the figures above.
An oven past saving can go with Camden’s bulky waste service, which takes large electrical items at £10 for up to 2, from street level, Monday to Friday. On a housing estate, parking follows the estate’s own rules and a Camden trade permit cannot be used there, so tell us on the call if your block is on one.
For the visit itself, Camden points service providers to its trade permit, which covers resident bays and single yellow lines in the zone of your address; resident visitor permits are aimed at personal visitors. Zone letters and hours of control vary across the borough, so check the sign nearest your door before the day.

Camden oven cleaning questions
How soon can I cook after the clean?
The same evening. Leave a window open for a while afterwards and any smell clears.
What should I take out before you arrive?
Anything you store inside the oven or in the drawer beneath it, and pans or kettles left on the hob. Leave the racks and trays where they are; the cleaner takes them out to soak.
Will you take the oven door apart?
Only as far as its design allows. Where the inner glass can be released it comes out and is cleaned; where it cannot, the glass is cleaned by hand on the faces that can be reached.
What does a range cooker cost?
A 90cm range is £143. A range hob or hood adds £48. For a separate hob, say on the form whether it is ceramic (£23) or gas (£28).
My Kentish Town house share has five tenants. Which licence applies?
Five or more occupiers from at least two households usually brings a property under Camden’s mandatory HMO licensing; with 3 or 4 it is the additional scheme. The council decides each case, and the Kentish Town page covers other cleaning in NW5.
Does the type of building change the price?
No. The price follows the oven and the hob, so a single oven costs £77 in a purpose-built block, a flat above a shop or a house in West Hampstead.
Ring 020 3734 1438 and tell us the oven: single, double or range.
