A woman holding a fresh loaf in a bright kitchen with a clean built-in oven behind her

Ealing splits almost evenly between owners and renters: in 2021, 46.2% of households owned their home, 34.0% rented privately and 17.5% from a social landlord. Oven cleaning here is £77 for a single oven.

Tenants, landlords and owners all get the same job: the oven cleaned by hand in the kitchen and ready to use that evening.

Tenants and sharers across Ealing

Renting is heavier in Acton. Across its three wards 39.3% of households rent privately (45.7% in North Acton) and 23.8% socially (30.0% in South Acton), while 33.5% own. Flats account for 69.7% of Acton households and 81.9% in South Acton, so in W3 the oven is usually in a flat kitchen. The Acton cleaning services page has more on the district.

Shared houses are the other large group of kitchens. Ealing’s additional HMO licence applies everywhere in the borough until 31 March 2027, to homes where three or more occupiers, from at least two households, share or go without a toilet, washing facilities or cooking facilities. A shared kitchen is one of the things that makes a house an HMO, and it usually means one cooker for everyone.

Creating new ones has become harder. Planning permission is now needed to turn a family house into a small HMO for three to six unrelated sharers: in Perivale ward from 30 October 2024, and across the rest of the borough, outside the OPDC area, from 14 November 2025. A landlord can book the oven clean between tenancies or at any point in the year.

The oven clean in an Ealing kitchen

The cleaner needs a cold oven and some clear worktop beside it. Racks, trays and shelf supports come out and are soaked. While they soak, the cavity is cleaned by hand: roof, sides, back and floor. The door glass and the seals follow, also by hand, and the inner door glass is cleaned only where the door design lets it come apart. Then the soaked parts are rinsed, dried and refitted.

Nothing leaves the kitchen, and the oven can be used the same evening; a window open for a while clears any smell. Keep the electricity and water on, and empty the drawer under the oven before the cleaner arrives. Every oven type, from a single to a range, is explained on the London oven cleaning page.

Hard water on hobs in Southall and Northolt

Affinity Water’s 2025 reports record a total hardness of 280 mg/l for its Southall zone and 305 mg/l for Greenford and Northolt, one sample each. Thames Water’s published scale puts 200 to 300 mg/l in the hard band and anything over 300 in the very hard band, so Greenford and Northolt sit just across the line. On a ceramic hob, water that hard leaves white rings wherever a pan boils over. The hob can be cleaned straight after the oven, at £23 for ceramic or £28 for gas.

Telling us which oven you have

The price depends on the oven, so it helps to know which one is in the kitchen. A single has one cavity. A double has two, usually a main oven with a smaller one or a grill above it. A single wide has one cavity that is wider than standard, and a 90cm range cooker stands on its own with its ovens under a wide hob. If you are not sure, measure the width and describe the doors when we ring back.

Ealing oven prices

A single oven is £77, a double £110, a single wide oven £114 and a 90cm range cooker £143. Add a ceramic hob for £23, a gas hob for £28, a range hob or hood for £48 or an extractor for £28. One-off work starts at £67, and the full price list covers everything else.

Booked on its own, a single oven costs £77. Put on an Ealing end of tenancy clean instead, the same oven is £31, and a double or a range £62. A tenant who is moving out pays less by putting the oven on the move-out booking.

If your street has no free parking, we add parking at its cost on the day, never more than £40.

Oven questions from Ealing kitchens

Can our landlord book the oven between tenants?

Yes. Landlords and letting agents book the same way as tenants, and the price follows the oven, so a shared-house cooker costs the same as any other single or double.

How soon can I cook again?

That evening. If there is any smell, open a window for a while and it clears.

Can the oven be cleaned on a Sunday?

Yes, any day from 8am to 7pm. Tell us the postcode when we ring back so we can check the parking zone for that day.

Is the inner glass of the door cleaned?

Where the door design lets the inner glass come apart, yes. On a door that does not separate, the cleaner reaches what it can of the glass by hand.

Do you cover Southall and Greenford?

Yes. Every part of Ealing is on the same price list, UB1, UB2 and UB6 included.

Do you clean ovens in council and housing association flats?

Yes. Social renting covers 17.5% of Ealing households, and those ovens are priced like any other, by type and width, whether the tenant or the landlord books.

Ring 020 3734 1438 with your oven type and width.
