Nearly half of West Hampstead’s households rent privately (44.9%), and 84.5% live in flats. We clean those flats every week or fortnight from £23 an hour, and deep clean them from £186.
Renting and living in West Hampstead
Across West Hampstead and Fortune Green wards the private-rented share is well above the 35.6% for Camden as a whole. Another 34.6% of households own their home and 20.4% rent socially (Census 2021). That many lets means plenty of check-outs, so the moving-out clean has its own paragraph further down.
The flats come in two kinds in roughly equal measure: 43.4% of households are in purpose-built blocks and 38.2% in converted or shared houses. Terraced houses account for 9.5%, semis 4.2% and detached homes 1.8%. The street pattern is old. West End Lane and Mill Lane probably existed in the Middle Ages, and in 1762 the hamlet of West End had about 19 houses, 18 cottages and 2 inns, most of them on the west side of West End Lane and Fortune Green Lane. The West End Green Conservation Area was designated on 1 March 1993.
For landlords, Camden’s additional HMO licensing has applied borough-wide from 8 December 2025. It covers any property with 3 or more occupiers in 2 or more households, and converted buildings that fall short of the 1991 Building Regulations where less than half the flats are owner-occupied. Details are on Camden’s HMO licensing page.
Regular and deep cleaning for West Hampstead flats
A regular clean is the same visit each week or fortnight. The cleaner does the kitchen surfaces, sink and hob, the bathroom, dusting and hoovering through the rooms, mopping and the bins, and you can leave a note for anything extra. It is booked by the hour, at least 3 hours a time; see domestic cleaning for the detail.
A deep clean is a one-off with two or more cleaners and the equipment and detergents we bring. It takes in the inside of empty cupboards, limescale, grout, skirting, doors and frames, and it suits a flat you are moving into, a first clean before a rota starts, or a share where nobody has done the bathroom properly in months.

Moving-out cleans are fixed by size: £156 for a studio, £207 for one bedroom and £243 for two. End of tenancy cleaning in Camden has the full scale, and if the inventory clerk or letting agent marks something we cleaned, tell us within 48 hours and we come back to put it right at no charge. Booking, parking and getting here
Fill in the form or call 020 3734 1438. We call back to settle the date and check the price against the flat, then take a 50% deposit to secure the booking; the other half is paid once the clean is done. Our hours are 8am to 7pm, seven days a week, and the line takes calls at any time.
West Hampstead has three stations, all in zone 2: West Hampstead on the Jubilee line, West Hampstead on the London Overground’s Mildmay line, and West Hampstead Thameslink. For a cleaner who drives, parking depends on the Camden zone, each coded CA- with a letter and its own hours, and private land inside a zone has its own rules. A resident can cover a visitor with an electronic Camden permit; for a deep clean running past 4 hours, that means an all-day permit where the zone offers one.

Questions from West Hampstead
I rent a flat off West End Lane. Can you do the clean before I hand back the keys?
Yes. A moving-out clean is a fixed price by size, from £156 for a studio, and the return visit applies if the inventory clerk marks something we cleaned and you tell us within 48 hours. Book it for the day or two before the check-out.
Do you clean shared flats in West Hampstead?
Yes, on a regular rota or as a one-off deep clean. A shared flat is priced like any other: by the hour for regular visits, by the cleaner-hour for a deep clean, or by size or room at the end of a tenancy. If the share is a licensable HMO under Camden’s scheme, the licence is the landlord’s matter.
Which station is nearest for a cleaner coming by train?
Any of the three. West Hampstead has a Jubilee line station, a London Overground (Mildmay line) station and West Hampstead Thameslink, all in zone 2.
How do I cover parking for a deep clean?
Camden’s route for service providers is its trade permit, valid in resident bays and on single yellow lines in your zone. Where paid street parking is needed, it is added to the bill as set out under prices.
Can I book an evening clean?
Cleans are booked between 8am and 7pm, seven days a week. A weekly visit is at least 3 hours, so the latest start depends on how long your flat takes.
