A man relaxing in an armchair in a Victorian terraced house with a period fireplace

Kentish Town’s flats are split almost evenly between converted houses and purpose-built blocks, and we clean both: weekly from £23 an hour, or a deep clean from £186.

A cleaner’s visit in Kentish Town, start to finish

The first visit begins with a few minutes at the door, with you or with a note if you will be out: which rooms matter most, anything to leave alone, and how you would like the cleaner to get in on later weeks. In a converted house that also means which floor the flat is on and whether the stair is shared, because it changes how long the carrying takes.

Then the work runs in a fixed order. The kitchen is first: worktops cleared and wiped, the hob top degreased, sink and taps descaled, cupboard fronts and the outside of the fridge and microwave done. The bathroom follows, from the shower head down to the floor. In the living room and bedrooms the cleaner dusts from the highest shelf downwards, wipes surfaces and skirting, then hoovers. Hard floors are mopped room by room on the way out, and the bins go out last.

A deep clean changes the pace more than the order. Two cleaners usually split the flat, one starting in the kitchen and one in the bathroom, and the extra hours go on the places a weekly visit skips: inside empty cupboards, behind a fridge that rolls out, grout, built-up limescale, door frames and switches. The deep cleaning and domestic cleaning pages give the full lists.

What a clean costs in NW5

Regular cleaning is £23 an hour for a weekly booking and £24 for fortnightly, with 3 hours as the shortest visit, so from £69 each time. Deep cleaning costs £26 per cleaner-hour plus a single £30 charge for equipment and detergents, which we bring; two cleaners for three hours makes £186. Any other one-off clean starts at £67. Every rate is on the price list, and where a street has no free parking, we add the cost on the day, never more than £40.

Three jobs are priced on their own. Moving out is a fixed price by size, from £156 for a studio to £243 for two bedrooms, and our end of tenancy cleaning across Camden includes a return visit at no charge if the inventory clerk or agent marks something we cleaned and you tell us within 48 hours. Carpets are cleaned by hot water extraction, room by room, from £36 (Camden carpet cleaning). Ovens are cleaned by hand in your kitchen, with the racks and trays soaked, from £77 (Camden oven cleaning).

Kentish Town homes, conservation areas and parking

In Kentish Town North and South wards 81.4% of households live in flats: 38.5% in purpose-built blocks and 36.0% in converted or shared houses. A further 13.6% live in terraced houses and only 4.0% in semis (Census 2021). Owners, private tenants and social tenants are about a third each (33.2%, 31.8% and 34.7%), so private lets here sit beside a large social-rented share.

The Kentish Town Conservation Area was designated on 1 November 1991, and the separate West Kentish Town Conservation Area on 20 September 2005. Parking is controlled zone by zone across Camden, with days and hours that differ, and estate land inside a zone follows its own rules. If your flat is on an estate, tell us whether there is a car park or a permit system when we ring.

Camden’s Reuse and Recycling Centre is in NW5 itself, on Regis Road (NW5 3EW), open every day from 9am to 4pm except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Vans and trailers must book ahead, so if a flat needs emptying before the clean, book the slot when you book us.

Kentish Town and the rest of Camden

NW5 has two stations on different lines: Kentish Town, with the Northern line, Thameslink and East Midlands Railway, and Kentish Town West on the London Overground’s Mildmay line, both in zone 2. Our Camden page covers the whole borough, and Hampstead next door has its own. Over the borough line, Highbury is in Islington.

Kentish Town cleaning questions

Do you clean flats on Kentish Town’s estates?

Yes. Estate flats are cleaned at the same hourly and deep-clean rates as any other home. Estate land often has its own parking rules, separate from the street zone, so let us know how parking works there and we will plan around it.

Where can I take furniture before a move-out clean?

Regis Road Reuse and Recycling Centre is in Kentish Town at NW5 3EW and opens daily from 9am to 4pm, closed only on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Book first if you are bringing a van or trailer.

Does Camden’s HMO licensing apply to my converted house?

Camden’s additional HMO licensing, in force since 8 December 2025, covers properties with 3 or more occupiers in 2 or more households, and converted blocks where less than half the flats are owner-occupied. The licence sits with you and the council; we price the clean by the size of the flat or by room.

How long is a regular clean in a two-bedroom Kentish Town flat?

A weekly visit to a one or two-bedroom flat usually fits the 3-hour minimum. A larger terrace or a flat that has gone a while without a clean may need longer, and we agree the hours with you on the phone.

Can I book a clean for a weekend?

Yes. We clean seven days a week between 8am and 7pm. Send the form or ring 020 3734 1438; we ring back to agree the date, and a 50% deposit secures it, with the balance due when the clean is done.

Send your NW5 postcode and the size of the flat, and we will ring to agree a day.
