Oven cleaning, Hammersmith and Fulham

In Hammersmith and Fulham even a flat shared by three people needs a licence, under a borough-wide HMO scheme that runs to 4 June 2027. Oven cleaning here starts at £77 for a single oven.

A shared kitchen in an HMO, a family kitchen in a terrace and a kitchen in a purpose-built block all get the same job, done by hand at the oven itself.

The oven clean, in order

1. The cleaner checks the oven is cold and clears a space on the worktop beside it.
2. Racks, trays and shelf supports come out and are soaked.
3. The cavity is cleaned by hand: the roof, the sides, the back and the floor of the oven.
4. The door glass and the seals are cleaned by hand. The inner door glass is cleaned only where the door design lets it come apart.
5. The soaked parts are rinsed, dried and fitted back in place.
6. The hob, the extractor or both, if booked, are done last.

All of it happens in your kitchen. The oven is usable the same evening, and a window left open for a while clears any smell. Keep the electricity and water on for the visit.

Before the cleaner arrives, empty the drawer under the oven and move anything stored on the hob or the worktop next to it. If the oven has been used that day, switch it off well ahead so it has time to cool.

Kitchens in the borough’s flats and shared houses

Nearly half of the borough’s households (48.1%) live in purpose-built blocks, and roughly a quarter (24.5%) in conversions. Social renting is 29.8% of households, so plenty of the kitchens belong to council and housing association flats.

In the four Census areas covering Shepherd’s Bush, 34.3% of households live in converted or shared houses, and a shared house usually means one kitchen for several tenants. The council’s additional HMO licence covers shared homes of three or four occupiers, houses and flats alike, and the scheme was extended from 5 June 2022. On the 24 streets in the selective scheme, such as Dalling Road, Greyhound Road, Sinclair Road and Talgarth Road, any let flat or house needs a licence as well. A landlord with a licensed shared house can book the oven between tenants or at any point in the year, and it is priced like any other oven.

The hob, the extractor and the rest of the kitchen

The oven is rarely the only greasy thing in a kitchen. A hob and an extractor can go on the same booking at the prices above. If the cupboards, tiles and floor need the same treatment, that is a deep clean, charged at £26 per cleaner-hour plus £30 for equipment and detergents, from £186, and the oven can be added to it.

Parking for an oven visit

An oven clean is a shorter visit than a move-out, so the parking rules that bite are the stay limits. In zone G, controlled every day from 9am to 10pm, pay and display is limited to 2 hours, and every bay is for permit holders from 6.30pm to 8pm. Outside a zone’s controlled hours there is nothing to pay. A range cooker with a hob and hood can run past a 2-hour limit, so tell us your zone when we ring back and we plan the visit around it.

Use the form or ring 020 3734 1438 and say what kind of oven it is and how wide. We ring back to agree a time between 8am and 7pm, any day of the week, and confirm the price against your kitchen.
