A man relaxing in an armchair in a Victorian terraced house with a period fireplace

Fulham has more terraced houses than the rest of its borough, 24.1% of households against 18.8% across Hammersmith and Fulham, and a weekly cleaner for one costs £23 an hour.

Fortnightly cleaning is £24 an hour. A regular visit is never shorter than three hours, which puts a weekly clean at £69 or more; a house over three floors will need longer. Deep cleans are £26 per cleaner-hour, plus a single £30 for equipment and detergents, and start at £186 for two cleaners over three hours. Moving out is fixed by size, £339 for a three-bed and £425 for four bedrooms, and any one-off job starts at £67. The price list shows the lot. Where a one-off clean has no free parking outside, the bay is charged at its cost on the day, capped at £40.

Terraces, conversions and blocks in SW6

Across the nine Census 2021 areas that cover Fulham there were 30,192 households. 70.7% lived in flats, split between purpose-built blocks (43.3%) and converted or shared houses (24.6%). 24.1% were in terraced houses and 4.3% in semi-detached homes. Owners just outnumber private renters: 38.7% own their home and 37.5% rent privately, while 22.1% rent socially.

About half the borough is conservation area. The council lists Bishops Park, Central Fulham, Fulham Park Gardens, Moore Park, Parsons Green, Sands End, Walham Green and Hurlingham among its 44. Fulham Broadway and Parsons Green stations are on the District line and Imperial Wharf is on the Mildmay line.

Fulham is part of the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, covered on the Hammersmith and Fulham page. Over the borough line, Chelsea and Earl’s Court are under a different council, and Putney has a page of its own.

A regular clean in a terraced house, floor by floor

In a house the cleaner works from the top floor down, so the dust from each landing ends up on stairs still to be done. Bedrooms first: surfaces dusted, beds changed if you leave linen out, skirting wiped, floor hoovered. Then the bathroom on that floor. Thames Water says all the water in its region is hard, and the limescale it leaves on taps, shower glass and the toilet rim needs the same few minutes every week or it sets.

Each flight of stairs gets hoovered on the way down, with the banister and spindles wiped. The kitchen comes last before the floors: worktops, hob, sink, splashback, the fronts of the oven, fridge and cupboards, and the bins. Mopping the hard floors downstairs finishes the visit.

In a flat in a converted house the order is the same in miniature, and the shared hall and stairs stay with the freeholder unless you ask us to include them.

Deep cleans, moving out, carpets and ovens

A deep clean is two or more cleaners working through what the weekly visit leaves: inside every emptied cupboard, the tops of the wall units, behind and under furniture that can be moved, door frames, radiators, window sills and tile grout. We bring the equipment and products; the water and electricity stay on.

For tenants, end of tenancy cleaning comes at a fixed price, and if the inventory clerk or letting agent marks something we cleaned you tell us within 48 hours and we return to put it right at no charge. Landlords have two licensing schemes to watch: the additional HMO scheme covers the whole borough until 4 June 2027, and the selective scheme covers lets on 24 named streets, a list that includes Fulham Road, New King’s Road, North End Road and Wandsworth Bridge Road.

Terraced houses mean stair carpet. Carpet cleaning by hot water extraction is £41 a flight, £9 a landing and £22 for a hallway, and drying usually takes a few hours, quicker with a window open. A single oven is £77 and a 90cm range £143 through oven cleaning; the racks, trays and shelf supports soak while the cavity, glass and seals are done by hand in the kitchen.

Booking around match days at Craven Cottage

On Fulham FC event days the council extends parking restrictions in zones T, X and Y around Craven Cottage: 9am to 10pm in zone T and 9am to 9.30pm in zones X and Y, Sundays and bank holidays included. Pay and display is limited to 2 hours in zone T and 1 hour in X and Y, while normal hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm in T and Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm in X and Y. A three-hour clean on a match day does not fit a one-hour bay.

The fix is a visitor session. A resident’s visitor can stay past the event-day limit in a shared permit bay if the resident books a RingGo visitor session, and residents can book sessions for up to five vehicles at once in their own zone. On a weekday the council’s all day trader permit is another route.

To book, send the form or ring 020 3734 1438 whenever suits you. We ring back between 8am and 7pm, any day, to agree the date and check the price against the house, then take a 50% deposit to hold it; the rest is paid after the clean.

Questions about cleaning in Fulham

Can you clean near Craven Cottage on a match day?

Yes, with some planning. Event-day controls run until 10pm in zone T and 9.30pm in zones X and Y, with 1 or 2 hour pay and display limits, so either book a RingGo visitor session for the cleaner or choose a day without a fixture.

Can I give the cleaner one of my visitor sessions?

Yes. Residents book visitor sessions through RingGo, and a visitor permit only works in the zone where the resident lives. In most zones that run on Sundays there is no charge for residents’ visitors that day, though the session still has to be activated.

How long does a regular clean of a terraced house take?

Longer than a flat, because of the stairs and any second bathroom. Three hours is the minimum; we agree the right number of hours on the call, at £23 an hour weekly or £24 fortnightly.

Do you clean stair carpets?

Yes, £41 a flight by hot water extraction. Stairs usually dry within a few hours, depending on how much air moves through the house.

Do you cover Sands End and Parsons Green?

Yes, and the rest of SW6. Postcodes.io places SW6 across the Fulham Reach, Fulham Town, Lillie, Munster, Palace and Hurlingham, Parsons Green and Sandford, Sands End, Walham Green and West Kensington wards.

Ring 020 3734 1438 or send the form, and we will call back with a price for your Fulham home.
