One Shepherd’s Bush household in three lives in a flat inside a converted or shared house (34.3% at the 2021 Census). A weekly cleaner for one costs £23 an hour.
The four Census areas that cover Shepherd’s Bush held 13,375 households. Flats account for 84.3% of them, 46.6% in purpose-built blocks and the rest mostly in those converted houses; terraced houses are 11.8% and semi-detached homes 2.9%. Renting dominates. 39.1% rent privately and 33.9% rent from the council or a housing association, which leaves owners at 25.4% and shared ownership at 1.3%.
Some of the buildings are protected. The council has a Shepherds Bush Conservation Area and lists Coningham and Lime Grove and Wood Lane among its others. The Grampians, Nos 1 to 175 Shepherds Bush Road with shops and a club, has been added to the statutory list at Grade II since the conservation area’s character profile came out, and the council keeps design guidelines for Nos 54 to 108 (even) Uxbridge Road.
Shepherd’s Bush prices
A weekly cleaner is £23 an hour and a fortnightly one £24, with three hours as the minimum visit, so weekly cleaning starts at £69. A deep clean costs £26 per cleaner-hour plus £30 for equipment and detergents; the smallest, two cleaners for three hours, is £186. Moving-out cleans are £156 for a studio, £207 for one bedroom and £243 for two, and one-off jobs start at £67. See the price list for carpets, ovens and upholstery. When a one-off clean has no free parking at the door, the cost of a street bay that day is added, never more than £40.
What each clean includes
A regular visit takes in the kitchen, the bathroom, dusting, beds and every floor. The kitchen gets the worktops, hob, sink, splashback and appliance fronts; the bathroom gets extra time on scale, since Thames Water says all the water in its region is hard. In a converted house the stairs inside your flat are included and the common parts are not, unless you ask.
A deep clean is the visit for a flat that needs catching up: grease on the splashback, the inside of emptied cupboards, behind movable furniture, along skirting boards and door frames, over radiators and into tile grout. Two or more cleaners come with our equipment and products, and you leave the water and electricity on.
When a tenancy ends, the end of tenancy clean is a fixed price by size. If the inventory clerk or letting agent marks something we cleaned, tell us within 48 hours and we come back and put it right at no charge. Carpet cleaning is hot water extraction priced by the room, £36 for a bedroom, and oven cleaning starts at £77, with the oven back in use the same evening.

Parking, licensing and the Tube in W12
Parking hours change from zone to zone. In the council’s zone table, zone G (which includes Caxton Road, Sterne Street and Tadmor Street) is controlled every day from 9am to 10pm, bank holidays included apart from Christmas Day and Easter Sunday. Pay and display there has a 2 hour maximum stay, and all bays are kept for permit holders from 6.30pm to 8pm. A three-hour clean in zone G is easier with a resident’s visitor session or the council’s weekday trader permit, which covers one vehicle at one named property from 9am to 5pm.
Landlords on several main roads have an extra licence to hold. The council’s selective licensing list of 24 streets includes Uxbridge Road, Goldhawk Road, Askew Road, Shepherd’s Bush Road, Wood Lane, Lime Grove and Coningham Road, and any flat or house let on a listed street needs a licence unless HMO licensing already applies. The additional HMO scheme covers the whole borough until 4 June 2027.
Five stations serve the area, all in zone 2: Shepherd’s Bush on the Central and Mildmay lines and Southern, Shepherd’s Bush Market, Goldhawk Road and Wood Lane on the Circle and Hammersmith and City lines, and White City on the Central line. For the borough as a whole see the Hammersmith and Fulham page; next door, Notting Hill and Acton have their own.
Booking a cleaner in Shepherd’s Bush
Fill in the form or call 020 3734 1438; the line takes calls at any hour. We phone back between 8am and 7pm on any day of the week to settle the date and confirm the price for your home. Paying half as a deposit secures the date, and the other half is due when the cleaner has finished.
Shepherd’s Bush cleaning questions
Is my W12 address in Hammersmith and Fulham?
Usually. Postcodes.io shows W12 spanning the Addison, College Park and Old Oak, Coningham, Grove, Ravenscourt, Shepherd’s Bush Green, Wendell Park, White City and Wormholt wards of Hammersmith and Fulham, plus some Ealing wards. We clean on both sides, at the same prices.
Where can the cleaner park in zone G?
In a pay and display bay, for up to 2 hours. For a longer clean, ask us about a RingGo visitor session from a resident of the zone or, on weekdays, the council’s all day trader permit. Because zone G is controlled until 10pm every day, an evening slot does not avoid the charge there.
Does a flat on Uxbridge Road need a selective licence?
If it is let under a tenancy, yes: Uxbridge Road is one of the 24 streets in the council’s selective scheme, which runs from 5 June 2022 to 4 June 2027. The exception is a property already covered by HMO licensing.
Do you clean in listed buildings such as the Grampians?
Yes. The cleaner dusts, wipes, hoovers and mops, and never removes or alters fixed features such as fireplaces and plasterwork. If anything is fragile, say so on the form.
What does a deep clean cost for a W12 flat?
From £186, which is two cleaners for three hours plus £30 for equipment and detergents. A bigger flat takes longer at £26 per cleaner-hour, and we agree the hours on the call.
Send your W12 address and the size of the home, and we will call back with a price.
