A man relaxing in an armchair in a Victorian terraced house with a period fireplace

Across Hammersmith and Fulham’s 81,244 households, three in four live in flats. A weekly cleaner costs £23 an hour, and a deep clean by two cleaners starts at £186.

Fortnightly visits are £24 an hour. Every regular visit is three hours or longer, so a weekly clean begins at £69, and one-off work starts at £67. A deep clean is billed at £26 per cleaner-hour with £30 on top for equipment and detergents. The price list has the rest, including moving-out cleans from £156. Street parking on a one-off clean is added at what it costs that day where nothing free is available, up to £40 and no more.

Home types in the borough and the time they take

The hours a home needs depend on its layout more than its floor area. The shares below are the 2021 Census figures for the borough; the times are a rough guide, and we agree the hours with you on the call.

Two of the borough’s districts have pages of their own, with the parking and licensing detail for each: Fulham and Shepherd’s Bush.

Parking, the trader permit and the river

The council sells a permit that a visiting cleaner can use. Its all day trader permit costs thirty pounds and covers one vehicle for 8 hours, 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, in a shared-use bay at or near one named property. It is not transferable and a space is not promised. On a full weekday deep clean it can still cost less than paying by the hour.

Pay and display and RingGo charges run from £2.80 to £7 an hour depending on the vehicle’s CO2 band, with a £1 an hour diesel surcharge. Controlled hours change by zone: many run Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, while zones A, B, C and E are controlled every day from 8.30am to 11pm. Outside controlled times parking is free.

Hammersmith Bridge, a Grade II* listed suspension bridge built in 1887, was fully closed on safety grounds in 2020. Its main carriageway reopened in April 2025 to pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair and e-scooter users, and the council and the Department for Transport are still considering its long-term future.

Landlords, licensing and clearing a flat

36.4% of households in the borough rent privately and 29.8% rent socially. Two licensing schemes apply to private lets. The additional HMO scheme covers the whole borough, started on 5 June 2017 and was extended from 5 June 2022 until 4 June 2027; it takes in shared houses and flats with 3 or 4 occupiers, purpose-built flats in blocks with any number of occupiers and some substandard converted flats. The selective scheme, in force from 5 June 2022 to 4 June 2027, needs a licence for any flat or house let on 24 named streets, among them King Street, Goldhawk Road, Uxbridge Road, Fulham Road and Askew Road.

Before a moving-out clean, furniture has to go. The council’s bulky waste collection costs fifty-one pounds for up to three items in 2026/27 and £10 for each extra one, with a mattress, bed base and headboard counting as three, and fridges and freezers emptied of food first. Housing blocks and estates have their own arrangements. Once the flat is empty, the end of tenancy clean is a fixed price by size, and if the inventory clerk or letting agent marks something we cleaned, you have 48 hours to tell us and we return to put it right at no charge.

Regular and deep cleaning across the borough

A regular cleaner works through the kitchen, bathroom, dusting, beds and floors on each visit, and we try to keep the same person on your home. Limescale gets attention every time, because Thames Water says all the water in its region is hard. A deep clean goes further: inside emptied cupboards, door tops, behind what can be moved, skirting boards, door frames, radiators and grout. The team brings the equipment and products, and you keep the water and electricity running.

About half the borough lies in its 44 conservation areas, including Brook Green, The Mall, Hammersmith Grove and Westcroft Square, so period skirting, cornices and fireplaces are common enough to mention on the form if they need a gentle hand. For floors and kitchens, carpet cleaning uses hot water extraction from £36 a bedroom, with rugs cleaned where they lie, and oven cleaning is £77 for a single oven, done by hand in your kitchen and ready to use the same evening.

Booking a cleaner in W6, W12, W14 or SW6

Send the form or ring 020 3734 1438, any time of day. We ring back between 8am and 7pm, seven days a week, to agree a date and confirm the price for the home as it is. A 50% deposit secures the booking and the remainder is due when the clean is done.

Hammersmith and Fulham cleaning questions

Can the cleaner use the council’s trader permit?

Yes, on weekdays. The all day trader permit is thirty pounds for one vehicle at one named property from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. On a one-off clean we add whatever the parking actually costs, within the cap shown in the prices.

Is my street in the selective licensing scheme?

Only if it is one of the 24 streets the council names, such as Dalling Road, Greyhound Road, Lime Grove or Wood Lane. The council’s licensing FAQs list them all. The additional HMO scheme applies everywhere in the borough.

Do you clean homes in conservation areas such as Brook Green?

Yes. About half the borough is in a conservation area, and the cleaner treats original woodwork and plaster with a damp cloth and a soft brush, moving nothing that is fixed.

How do I clear furniture before a moving-out clean?

Book the council’s bulky waste collection: fifty-one pounds for up to three items and £10 for each extra one in 2026/27. Housing blocks and estates have separate arrangements, so check with your managing agent first.

What does a weekly cleaner cost in Hammersmith?

£23 an hour, with a three-hour minimum visit, which comes to £69. Fortnightly is £24 an hour.

Ring 020 3734 1438 or send the form, and we will call back with a price for your Hammersmith or Fulham home.
