The council’s Walthamstow regeneration list includes 500 homes at 17 and Central, on the Mall site. Oven cleaning in Waltham Forest costs £77 for a single oven, done by hand in your kitchen.
Doubles, single wide ovens and ranges have their own prices, and the oven is usable the same evening.
Oven prices on their own and with a move-out clean
The price depends on the oven, and on whether it is booked alone or added to an end of tenancy clean.
| Oven | What it looks like | Booked on its own | Added to a move-out clean |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single | One cavity, about 60cm wide | £77 | £31 |
| Double | Two cavities stacked in one 60cm frame | £110 | £62 |
| Single wide | One large cavity, about 90cm wide, one door | £114 | £31 |
| 90cm range | Freestanding cooker with two or more compartments | £143 | £62 |
The move-out figure applies when the oven goes on the same booking as an end of tenancy clean in Waltham Forest, because the cleaner is already in the kitchen. A tenant leaving a two-bedroom flat with a double oven pays £62 for the oven on top of the clean; the owner of the same flat, staying put, pays £110.
New blocks, shared houses and the old cooker
Walthamstow has a long list of new homes planned. Besides 17 and Central, which also brings new step-free access to the Victoria line, the council’s list names The Chain E17, 518 homes on the former 68 to 75 Brunner Road and 60 South Grove site, and the Forest Road Corridor, with at least 1,800 homes. A new built-in oven is cleaned and priced like any other of its type.
Shared houses have their own licence. A borough-wide additional HMO scheme, for houses shared by two or three people from two or more households, came into force on 1 April 2025 and runs to 31 March 2030. One oven in a house like that serves every household in it, so a landlord can book it at a change of tenant, or the tenants can book it themselves.
An old cooker cannot go on the council’s large item collection. That service takes up to five non-electrical items and rules out anything with a plug, battery or motor, so a cooker being replaced needs another route out of the house, and one put out on the pavement risks a £400 fixed penalty notice.
Parking for an oven visit in Waltham Forest
Businesses doing work in a controlled parking zone, and landlords with a property in the borough, can buy virtual business visitor permits by the hour: £2.60 an hour for a single zone or £3.10 for all zones, up to 520 hours in a rolling 12 months. An oven visit is short, so the hours add up to far less than a full-day job. A resident can also supply one of their own visitor permits for the day.
The oven clean, part by part
Let the oven go cold before the cleaner arrives, take anything stored in it or in the drawer below, and keep the water and electricity on.
The removable parts come out first: racks, trays and shelf supports. They are left to soak, and in the meantime the cleaner cleans the cavity, the glass and the seals by hand, in the kitchen. If the door is built to come apart, the inner door glass is cleaned too; if it is not, the panes stay sealed and the cleaner says so. The soaked parts are cleaned and refitted, the oven can be used the same evening, and a window open for a while clears any smell from the first heat.
Hobs and extractors are separate lines. A ceramic hob is £23, a gas hob £28, a range hob or a range hood £48 each, and a standard extractor hood £28. One-off work starts at £67, which only comes up when a hob or a hood is booked without an oven. The oven cleaning page for London explains each oven type in more detail.

Oven cleaning in Waltham Forest: questions
Can I use the oven tonight?
Yes. The parts are back in when the cleaner leaves, and a window open for a while clears any smell the first time it heats up.
Can the council take my old cooker?
Not on the large item collection, which excludes anything with a plug, battery or motor. Arrange another way to dispose of it before the new one arrives.
What is a single wide oven?
One large cavity, about 90cm wide, behind a single door. It can look like a range from across the room, but it has one cavity to clean, so it costs £114 against £143 for a range.
Is the glass between the door panes cleaned?
Where the door design lets the inner glass come apart, yes. Some doors are sealed, and then only the faces the cleaner can reach are done.
Do you clean ovens in shared houses?
Yes, at the same price as any other oven of that type. Tell us which kitchen it is in and how the cleaner gets in.
Ring 020 3734 1438 with the oven type, or its width and number of doors.
