Woodberry Down is replacing an estate of about 2,000 homes with a planned 5,500 new ones. Anywhere in Hackney, a single oven clean costs £77, done by hand in your kitchen.
Hackney oven prices by type
A single oven is £77, a double £110, a single wide £114 and a 90cm range £143. A ceramic hob adds £23, a gas hob £28, an extractor over a standard cooker £28 and the hob or hood of a range £48. One-off work starts at £67; a hob or extractor booked without the oven is charged at that minimum. The price list has everything else we do.

Kitchens in Hackney’s blocks and shared houses
Most Hackney kitchens are in flats. Purpose-built blocks hold 60.4% of the borough’s households, converted or shared houses another 15.5% and 1.6% live in flats within commercial buildings. Only 13.9% of households live in a terraced house, so the oven is usually in a flat reached by a lift or a shared stair. Council and housing association tenants make up 40.5% of households, which puts many of those kitchens in landlord-owned flats.
New kitchens keep arriving. Woodberry Down’s rebuild runs over 20 years, with at least 41% set aside for social rent or shared ownership, and the council has picked five sites it owns in Dalston (Birkbeck Mews, one on Dalston Lane and three on Ashwin Street) for affordable housing and workspace. Whether the oven is built into the units or sits under a freestanding hob, the price follows its type.
Shared houses are the third kind of kitchen. Hackney’s additional licensing scheme, which started on 1 May 2026 and runs to 30 April 2031, covers homes shared by three or more people from two or more households where the mandatory scheme does not apply. In a shared house one oven usually serves every household, and the landlord can book it between lets.
Cleaning the oven in a Hackney kitchen
The racks, trays and shelf supports come out first and go into a soak. While they soak, the cavity is cleaned by hand, then the door glass and the door seals, all in your kitchen. The inner door glass is cleaned where the door design lets it come apart; on a door built in one piece, the cleaner does the glass that can be reached.
When the parts are clean they go back in. The oven is usable the same evening, and leaving a window open for a while clears any smell from the first heat. Before the cleaner arrives, let the oven cool and keep the electricity and water on.
Hob, extractor and the move-out price
The hob and the extractor are priced on their own, as above, and are cleaned on the same visit if you add them when you book.
Moving out changes the oven price. Added to an end of tenancy clean in Hackney, a single or single wide oven costs £31 and a double or range £62, against £77 and £110 for the same ovens booked alone. The oven work is identical; it costs less because the team is in the kitchen for the move-out clean anyway. Private renters are 32.2% of Hackney households and 43.0% in Dalston ward, so for many the add-on is the figure that matters.
Parking for an oven visit in Hackney
An oven clean is shorter than a full clean, yet Hackney’s one-hour minimum on pay and display means even a quick visit pays for an hour. In Hoxton’s Zone F and Shoreditch’s Zone B South, bays are controlled from 8.30am to 6.30pm on weekdays and 8.30am to 1.30pm on Saturdays, so a Saturday afternoon visit there falls outside the controlled hours.
Residents of new-build blocks cannot buy on-street permits, because new homes in the borough are car free, so the cleaner uses a pay and display bay, a visitor voucher or a council car park.
Booking an oven clean in Hackney
Tell us the oven type and the postcode on the form, or ring 020 3734 1438 any time. If you are unsure of the type, measure the width and count the doors, and say whether the hob is gas or ceramic, since each is priced separately. We ring back during our hours (8am to 7pm, seven days) to fix a date and confirm the price; a 50% deposit secures the slot and the balance is due when the oven is done. The oven cleaning page for London explains how a range differs from a single wide oven.

Oven cleaning questions from Hackney
Can you clean the oven in a shared house?
Yes. A shared house oven is priced like any other, by type, so a single is £77. If the house is licensed as an HMO, the landlord can book it between tenancies or when one room changes hands.
When can I use the oven again?
The same evening. Leave a window open for a while after the first heat and any smell clears.
Is the glass between the door panes cleaned?
Where the door is designed to come apart, yes. Some doors are not, and on those the cleaner cleans every surface of glass within reach.
What counts as a 90cm range?
A freestanding range cooker about 90cm wide with two or more ovens, priced at £143. A 90cm cooker with one large oven is a single wide, at £114.
Can you come on a Sunday?
Yes. We work from 8am to 7pm on every day of the week, and you can ring at any hour; bookings are confirmed during those working hours.
