Islington has more social tenants than private ones: 40.2% of households rent from the council or a housing association. Regular cleaning here is £23 an hour and deep cleans start at £186.

We clean flats and houses across the borough’s N1, N5, N7, N19 and EC1V postcodes, weekly, fortnightly or once. A weekly visit is £23 an hour and a fortnightly one £24, for at least 3 hours. Deep cleaning is £26 per cleaner-hour plus £30 for the equipment and detergents we bring. Other one-off work starts at £67, and the price list has every rate. Where there is no free parking, we add the street parking cost on the day, never more than £40.

Islington homes and the time a clean takes

At the 2021 Census 83.7% of Islington households lived in flats, most of them (57.4%) in purpose-built blocks. The table sets the main home types against a usual starting point for a clean. We agree the actual hours with you on the phone, so the price is fixed before the day.

Deep clean hours are charged at £26 per cleaner, plus the single £30 kit charge. Another 3.1% of households live in other converted buildings and 1.9% in flats above or within commercial buildings; those are priced the same way.

Renting and licensing in Islington

Social renting is the largest tenure in the borough at 40.2% (25.0% council, 15.2% other social landlords), private renting is 31.2%, and 26.7% own, with another 1.6% in shared ownership.

Islington’s property licensing page lists three schemes: mandatory licensing for HMOs with 5 or more unrelated people, additional licensing for HMOs with 3 or 4, and selective licensing for ordinary private lets in named wards. A new selective designation, signed on 21 August 2026, covers private rented homes in Barnsbury, Caledonian, Highbury, Junction, Laycock, Mildmay and Tufnell Park wards from 23 November 2026 to 22 November 2031, including lets to one person, two sharers or a single household. The 2024 scheme for Finsbury Park, Hillrise and Tollington stays in force. The council’s property licensing page has the conditions.

Parking and match days

Controlled parking zones cover the whole borough. Most run from 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, some on Saturdays as well, zones C and K run 24 hours, and zones D, G, HE, TW, U and Z have short daytime windows. On Arsenal home games and big events at the Emirates Stadium, extra controls apply in zones E, F, G, H, J, L, N, Q and V, so check the fixture list before booking a weekend clean in those zones.

A resident can buy visitor e-vouchers up to 2 days ahead; they work in resident and shared-use bays with nothing on display, though short-stay bays are excluded.

Regular, deep and moving-out cleaning across Islington

A regular clean covers the kitchen and bathroom surfaces, dusting, hoovering, mopping and bins, with any extra jobs you leave on a note; the domestic cleaning page has the detail. A deep clean goes inside empty cupboards, takes limescale off taps and glass, and does the grout, skirting, doors and frames. Our cleaners are vetted and trained.

Three services have Islington pages of their own. End of tenancy cleaning in Islington is fixed by size, £156 for a studio up to £425 for four bedrooms, with a return visit at no charge if the inventory clerk or agent marks something we cleaned and you tell us within 48 hours. Carpet cleaning uses hot water extraction, priced per room from £36, and oven cleaning is done by hand in your kitchen from £77.

Highbury, Angel and the rest of the borough

Islington lists 42 conservation areas, among them The Angel, Upper Street, Barnsbury, Canonbury, Highbury Fields and Highbury New Park. Two districts have their own pages with local detail: Highbury and Angel.

Questions about cleaning in Islington

Do you clean council and housing association flats in Islington?

Yes. They are booked and priced like any other home. If the block has its own parking or entry arrangements, tell us when we ring back.

Can I use an Islington visitor e-voucher for the cleaner’s car?

Yes, if you are a resident. E-vouchers can be bought up to 2 days in advance, work in resident and shared-use bays and need nothing in the window. Short-stay and solo motorcycle bays are excluded.

Will an Arsenal home game affect my clean?

It can, if you live in zones E, F, G, H, J, L, N, Q or V, where extra parking controls apply on home games and big events. Mention the fixture when you book and we will plan the time around it.

My flat is in one of the new selective licensing wards. Does that change anything for the clean?

Licensing is between the landlord and the council; the clean itself is the same. The new scheme starts on 23 November 2026 in Barnsbury, Caledonian, Highbury, Junction, Laycock, Mildmay and Tufnell Park.
