Three in four Lambeth households live in flats, many inside converted Victorian houses. Oven cleaning in Lambeth starts at £77 for a single oven, and the oven is cleaned by hand in your kitchen.
The oven clean, start to finish
Switch the oven off a few hours before the visit so it is cold when the cleaner arrives. The first job is to check the oven against the booking (single, double, single wide or range) and look at the door to see whether its inner glass is designed to come out.
Next the racks, trays and shelf supports are lifted out and left to soak. With them out of the way, the cavity is cleaned by hand: roof, side walls, back, floor and the inside of the door, then the outer glass and the door seals. Where the door comes apart, the inner pane is taken out and both faces are cleaned before it goes back; where the door is sealed, the inner glass is left alone.
When the soak has done its work, the racks and trays are scrubbed, rinsed and refitted. A hob or extractor booked with the oven is cleaned while the parts soak. The oven is usable the same evening, and a window open for a while clears any smell left from the cleaning. Everything happens in your kitchen, on your water and electricity, so leave both on.
The oven cleaning page for London explains what we count as a range and how the add-on price works with a move-out clean.
Lambeth oven prices
A single oven is £77, a double £110, a single wide oven £114 and a 90cm range £143. A ceramic hob is £23, a gas hob £28, a range hob or hood £48, and an extractor £28. One-off work starts at £67; the London price list has the rest.
Booked on its own, the oven is cleaned and the hob and hood above it are left as they are. Booked as the full cooker, a single oven with a gas hob and an extractor is £117 for all three on the one visit, and the cleaner works through all three while the racks soak.
Waterloo, Lambeth North and the streets north of Kennington Lane are inside the Congestion Charge zone, where the daily charge is part of the price. Where no free parking can be found, the cost of a bay that day is added, capped at £40.

Shared houses, conversions and new homes in Lambeth
Lambeth says every house in multiple occupation now needs a licence: mandatory HMOs of five or more people sharing facilities, additional HMOs of three or more people in two or more households, and section 257 buildings of converted flats. The additional scheme began on 9 December 2021, and its notice gives 8 December 2026 as the end date unless it is revoked sooner. In a shared house one oven serves every household, so book a slot when nobody needs the kitchen for a few hours.
Selective licensing covers private lets in 23 of the 25 wards, and for a landlord between tenants the oven can go on the end of tenancy clean at £31. Private renting is 37.2% across the Clapham wards, against 31.4% for the borough, and Clapham Common and Abbeville ward has the most owners of the three, at 45.0%.
New kitchens are coming too. Work began on 16 March 2026 on 187 social and affordable homes on Somerleyton Road in Brixton, the next phase of a 378-home council scheme.
Parking and old cookers
In Lambeth’s pay-for bays the cleaner pays through the PayByPhone app or by phone. Loading bays, red routes included, allow 20 minutes at most. Clapham Common and Clapham High Street stations are in zone C, controlled 8.30am to 6.30pm on weekdays, while Brixton’s inner zone runs Monday to Saturday. Residents’ visitor vouchers are for domestic visitors and cannot be used for a tradesperson.
If the oven is past cleaning and you are replacing it, Lambeth’s chargeable bulky collection takes white goods, at £70 for up to six items or £116 for up to ten, put out by 6am on the day. Reusable items in good condition can go to Emmaus through the council’s free reuse collection.
Booking an oven clean in Lambeth
Ring 020 3734 1438 or send the form with your postcode and the oven type. We ring back to agree a day and confirm the price against the oven, then a 50% deposit holds the slot and the other half is paid when the job is done. We are open 8am to 7pm, seven days, and the line can be rung at any hour.
Tell us if the home is on a council estate: Lambeth’s traders’ vouchers do not work on estates, and visitors there need the council’s separate estate visitor permit.

Oven cleaning in Lambeth: questions
Do I need to switch the oven off before you arrive?
Yes, a few hours before, so the cavity is cold. A warm oven cannot be cleaned safely by hand.
Can you clean the oven in a shared house while the tenants are living there?
Yes. Pick a time when nobody needs to cook for a few hours, clear the oven of trays and dishes that are not part of it, and the oven is back in use that evening.
Will you take my old cooker away?
No, we clean ovens and leave them in place. For a cooker you are replacing, Lambeth’s bulky collection takes white goods, and the council’s reuse partner Emmaus takes items still in good condition.
My range has two ovens and a wide hob. Which price is that?
That is a 90cm range, at £143. A range hob or hood is £48 if you want it done on the same visit.
Is a double oven two singles?
No. A double oven, with two cavities stacked one above the other, is £110, against £77 for a single.
Ring 020 3734 1438 with your postcode and the oven you have.
