Getting the kitchen ready

Switch the oven off in good time so it has cooled by the time the cleaner arrives. Take out the roasting tins, pizza stones and anything else you keep inside it, and empty the storage drawer underneath if there is one. Trays and racks that came with the oven stay in, because they are part of the clean.

The soaking parts need space, so clear the worktop nearest the sink or leave a stretch of floor free. Pets are best kept in another room while the door is open and the parts are out.
