Lewisham Gateway’s first phase put 362 new homes beside the stations, and 649 more are under construction. Oven cleaning in Lewisham costs £77 for a single oven and £110 for a double.
The price depends on the cooker, never on the size of the flat or the street it is in. Everything is cleaned in your kitchen, and you can cook again that evening.
Oven cleaning prices in Lewisham
The cooker sets the price. A standard single oven is £77, a single wide £114, a double £110 and a 90cm range £143. Hobs are extra: £23 for ceramic, £28 for gas and £48 for a range hob or hood. An extractor on its own is £28.
A double costs more than a single because there are two cavities and two doors of glass to clean, and a range is wider again, with a bigger hob on top. One-off work starts at £67, which matters only if you book a hob or an extractor without the oven.
The price list shows the same figures beside every other service. Parking is added at the day’s cost where nothing free is available nearby, capped at £40.

Kitchens in Lewisham’s flats and shared houses
More than half of Lewisham households (57.7%) lived in flats at the 2021 Census, and most of those were in purpose-built blocks, 39.1% of all households. The newest are by the stations. Lewisham Gateway’s first phase put 193 homes in Building A and 169 in Block B where the old roundabout stood, and phase two is building 649 more: 106 affordable, 424 for market rent and 119 co-living, with a cinema and gym. With 424 homes for market rent in phase two alone, a lot of the borough’s newest kitchens will be in rented flats.
Another 16.3% of households lived in converted or shared houses, bedsits included, and the council has required an additional HMO licence for smaller shared houses across the whole borough from 22 April 2022. In a shared house the oven belongs to the landlord, and between tenancies is the obvious time to have it cleaned.
Most of the remaining homes are houses: terraces are 26.2% of households and semi-detached homes 13.0%. A family kitchen in a terrace is priced exactly like a studio kitchen in a new block, by what is in it.
Rack by rack: the oven clean
The cleaner starts by taking out everything removable: racks, trays and the shelf supports. They go to soak while the rest of the oven is cleaned.
The cavity is cleaned by hand, roof, back, sides and floor, along with the door glass and the rubber seals. The inner door glass comes apart only on doors designed for it, and on those the cleaner does both panes.
Racks and trays go back in clean, the hob and extractor are done if you booked them and the oven is ready to use the same evening. Leave a window open for a while and any smell clears.
All of it happens in your kitchen.
Before the cleaner arrives
Let the oven cool if it has been on, and take out anything stored inside it or in the drawer underneath. Racks and trays that belong to the oven stay where they are, since they are cleaned with everything else. A clear stretch of worktop or floor near the sink helps, because the soaking parts need somewhere to sit.
Keep the water and electricity on. If you know the model of the cooker, or still have its manual, tell us when you book; it settles in advance whether the inner door glass can come apart.
Hobs, extractors and moving-out add-ons
The hob is worth booking with the oven, since the grease on top comes from the same cooking: £23 for a ceramic hob, £28 for gas. The extractor adds £28, or £48 covers a range hob together with its hood.
Moving out of a rented flat? The oven is £31 when it is added to an end of tenancy clean in Lewisham, and £62 for a double or a range. For the floors, carpet cleaning in Lewisham has its own page, and cleaning services in Lewisham covers the general clean.

Questions about oven cleaning in Lewisham
Can I cook the same evening?
Yes. The oven is ready that evening; open a window for a while and any smell from the clean clears.
Is the oven taken away to be cleaned?
No. Racks, trays and shelf supports are soaked and the rest is cleaned by hand, all in your kitchen.
Do you clean ovens in Lewisham Gateway and the other new blocks?
Yes, at the same prices as anywhere in the borough. If the building has a concierge or rules for contractors, tell us when you book and the visit is planned around them.
My oven is in a shared house. Who should book it?
Either the tenants or the landlord. If the house is licensed as an HMO, the landlord may prefer to book it between tenancies, when the kitchen is quiet.
Do you clean range cookers?
Yes. A 90cm range is £143, and a range hob or hood adds £48.
Do I need to be in for the whole visit?
Someone needs to let the cleaner in and show them the cooker. After that you can carry on with your day, and the oven is left ready to use.
Send the form or ring 020 3734 1438 and tell us which cooker you have.
