Half of Ealing’s households live in flats (49.5% at the 2021 Census), and a weekly cleaner for a flat costs £23 an hour, with three hours the shortest visit.
Fortnightly visits are £24 an hour, so the three-hour minimum comes to £69 on a weekly rota. A deep clean is booked differently: two cleaners at £26 each per hour for at least three hours, with £30 added once for the equipment and detergents they bring, which puts the smallest deep clean at £186. One-off work starts at £67. On a one-off clean, where the street has no free parking, we add parking at what it costs on the day and never more than £40. Every other price, from moving-out cleans to sofas, is on the price list.
Flats, terraces and semis from Acton to Southall
About two thirds of the borough’s flats are in purpose-built blocks (34.5% of all households) and most of the rest are in converted or shared houses (12.7%). Terraced houses account for 23.4% of households and semis for 21.9%. A third of households (34.0%) rent privately, 17.5% rent from a council or housing association and 46.2% own, with another 2.0% in shared ownership.
Much of the older housing is protected. The council counts almost 600 listed buildings and 30 conservation areas, which it describes as mostly nineteenth and early twentieth century residential streets, parks, transport and industrial heritage and old village cores. In a period house that can mean original skirting, plaster cornices and fireplaces, and the cleaner dusts those with a soft brush and a dry cloth.
Acton has a page of its own with its parking zones and conservation areas: cleaning in Acton. The rest of the borough, from Ealing Broadway and West Ealing to Hanwell, Southall, Greenford and Northolt, is covered here.

A regular clean in an Ealing home, kitchen first
A regular visit follows the same order each week so nothing gets skipped. The kitchen comes first: worktops cleared and wiped, the hob top and splashback degreased, the sink and taps descaled and dried, cupboard fronts and handles wiped, the bin emptied and the floor mopped.
The bathroom is next, and in the west of the borough it takes longer. Affinity Water’s 2025 report for its Southall zone recorded hardness of 280 mg/l, and its report for Greenford and Northolt 305 mg/l, which is in the very hard band on Thames Water’s scale. The cleaner deals with the shower screen, the taps and the base of the toilet on every visit, before the scale sets.
Then the living room, bedrooms and hall: surfaces dusted, beds made, carpets hoovered and hard floors mopped, with the stairs included in a house. In a larger house three hours may not reach every room each week, so the bedrooms take turns on a rota you agree with the cleaner while the kitchen and bathroom are done every time. We keep the same cleaner on your visits wherever we can.
A deep clean is for the work a weekly visit leaves behind: inside the cupboards once you have emptied them, the tops of doors and wall units, behind furniture that can be moved, radiators, skirting boards, grout and window frames. It suits a home that has gone a while without a cleaner, or one about to start a weekly rota. The deep cleaning page sets out the hours by home size.

Moving out, carpets and ovens in Ealing
Ealing licenses shared homes across the whole borough. The current additional HMO designation runs from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2027 and covers homes with three or more occupiers from two or more households who share a toilet, washing or cooking facilities, and the council consulted from 15 July to 24 September 2026 on licensing smaller shared houses of three or four occupiers. Since 14 November 2025 planning permission has been needed across most of the borough to turn a family house into a small HMO. Landlords can check a street with the council’s postcode checker.
When a tenancy ends, the end of tenancy clean in Ealing has a fixed price by size, from £156 for a studio. If the inventory clerk or letting agent marks anything we cleaned, tell us within 48 hours and we come back to put it right at no charge. Furniture has to go first. The council’s bulky items collection costs thirty pounds for up to six items, but it will not collect from red routes such as the A40 or the North Circular, from back gardens or from the pavement, and it refuses anything that has touched mould or pests.
For the floors, carpet cleaning uses hot water extraction at £36 a bedroom, and a carpet usually dries in a few hours with a window open. A single oven is £77: the racks and trays soak while the cavity, the glass and the seals are cleaned by hand in your kitchen, and you can cook that evening (see oven cleaning in Ealing).

Questions from Ealing households
How hard is the water in Southall and Greenford?
Hard to very hard. Affinity Water’s 2025 reports give 280 mg/l for its Southall zone and 305 mg/l for Greenford and Northolt, one sample each, and Thames Water’s scale calls anything above 300 very hard. On every regular visit the cleaner descales the taps, the shower screen and the sink.
When can a cleaner park in Zone W near Ealing Broadway?
The zone’s restrictions apply only from 9am to 10am and 3pm to 4pm on weekdays, so a clean that starts after 10am has the bays open until 3pm. Double yellow lines are controlled 24 hours a day everywhere in the borough.
Where can I take rubbish before I move out?
Book a slot at the Greenford Road reuse and recycling centre. Each car can stay 30 minutes, and DIY, construction, demolition and trade waste is charged. For sofas, beds and wardrobes the council’s bulky collection is usually simpler, as long as you are not on a red route.
Do you clean listed houses and homes in conservation areas?
Yes. With almost 600 listed buildings and 30 conservation areas in the borough, original floors and fireplaces are common. Point them out when we ring and the cleaner keeps water off them.
