More than one Haringey household in five (22.8%) lives in a flat inside a converted house, the fourth highest share in London. A weekly cleaner for a flat like that costs £23 an hour.

Fortnightly visits are £24 an hour, and a regular visit runs for 3 hours or more, so the shortest weekly booking is £69. Deep cleaning is charged per cleaner-hour at £26, plus £30 for the equipment and detergents the cleaners bring; two cleaners for three hours, the smallest deep clean, comes to £186. Other one-off jobs start at £67, and every figure is on the price list. Where a street has no free parking, a one-off clean carries what parking costs on the day, capped at £40.

Flats, conversions and terraces across Haringey

At the 2021 Census 61.0% of Haringey households lived in flats: 35.4% in purpose-built blocks, 22.8% in converted or shared houses, and small numbers in other converted buildings (1.2%) or above shops and offices (1.6%). Terraced houses held 25.6%, semis 9.4% and detached homes 3.9%.

Those borough totals hide a wide spread between wards. In White Hart Lane only 26.9% of households live in flats and 46.1% in terraces; in Stroud Green the flat share reaches 76.9%. Private renting swings almost as far, from 21.3% of households in Alexandra Park to 50.2% in Harringay. So a cleaner sent to White Hart Lane is more likely to find a terraced house with a staircase to cover, and one sent to Stroud Green a flat at the top of a shared stair. Tell us which you have when we ring, because stairs and the number of bathrooms change the hours more than the postcode does.

Large parts of the borough are conservation areas, Crouch End, Muswell Hill, Noel Park, Tower Gardens and Wood Green Common among them, and Noel Park, Tower Gardens, the Rookfield Estate and Peabody Cottages also carry Article 4 directions on external changes. Three districts have pages of their own with the parking and housing detail for each: Tottenham, Crouch End and Muswell Hill.

A regular visit to a Haringey home, room by room

On a weekly or fortnightly visit the cleaner starts in the kitchen: worktops, hob and splashback, the sink and taps, the fronts of cupboards and appliances, then the floor. The bathroom is next, with the bath or shower, basin, toilet, mirror and the tiles within reach. Bedrooms and the living room are dusted, hoovered and mopped, beds are changed when you leave fresh linen out, and the bins are emptied before the cleaner leaves.

Thames Water says all the water in its region is hard. Its 2025 report for the Haringey West supply zone shows 246 to 279 mg/l of calcium carbonate, inside the 200 to 300 band it calls hard, and that water leaves a chalky residue on taps, shower glass and kettles. It builds up again between visits, so the bathroom fittings and the sink get a few more minutes here than you might expect.

A deep clean is the longer job, done by two cleaners: inside the emptied cupboards, grout, door frames and skirting, limescale that has set over months, and the floor behind anything that can be moved. It makes a good first visit before a regular rota begins. The deep cleaning page lists the full scope, and domestic cleaning explains how a rota is set up.

Moving out, carpets and ovens in the borough

Haringey has the ninth highest share of private renters among London’s 33 authorities (35.6% of households). For tenants moving out, end of tenancy cleaning in Haringey is a fixed price by size, from £156 for a studio up to £425 for four bedrooms. When the inventory clerk or the letting agent flags something we cleaned, let us know within 48 hours and we come back and put it right without charge.

Landlords have two licensing schemes to check. Selective licensing covers tenanted houses and flats in 14 wards, from Bounds Green and Noel Park to Tottenham Hale and White Hart Lane, from 17 November 2022 to 17 November 2027. Additional licensing covers shared houses outside the mandatory scheme across the whole borough from 17 June 2024 to 16 June 2029.

Carpet cleaning in Haringey uses hot water extraction and is priced by the room, £36 for a bedroom and £41 for a flight of stairs; with a window open the carpet is usually dry within a few hours. Oven cleaning across the borough starts at £77 for a single oven. The racks and trays soak while the cavity, glass and seals are cleaned by hand in your kitchen, and you can cook in it that evening.

Booking a cleaner in Haringey

Fill in the form at the top of this page, or ring 020 3734 1438, with the postcode, the size of the home and a date. We call back to fix the day and check the price against the home. A 50% deposit holds the date and the balance follows once the cleaning is done. The phones are staffed 8am to 7pm every day, and you can ring outside those hours too. Each cleaner we send is vetted and trained.

Controlled parking hours change from zone to zone. The Wood Green Inner Zone is controlled 8am to 10pm every day, Crouch End A only 10am to noon on weekdays and Muswell Hill 11am to 1pm all week, with on-street rates on the council’s list running from £1.60 to £4.10 an hour. If your cleaner is coming by Tube, Seven Sisters is a zone 3 interchange on the Victoria line, the Weaver Overground line and Greater Anglia trains.

Questions about cleaning in Haringey

Which Haringey postcodes do you cover?

All of them: N8, N10, N15, N17 and N22, and the parts of N2, N4, N6, N11 and N18 that fall inside the borough. Put your postcode into the form and it shows the price for that address.

Is my rented flat inside Haringey’s selective licensing area?

It is if the flat is let to a single household in one of the 14 wards: Bounds Green, Bruce Castle, Harringay, Hermitage & Gardens, Noel Park, Northumberland Park, Seven Sisters, South Tottenham, St Ann’s, Tottenham Central, Tottenham Hale, West Green, White Hart Lane or Woodside. The council’s designation notice has the detail. The licence is a matter for the landlord and the council and makes no difference to how we clean or price the flat.

Can Haringey Council take away old furniture before a deep clean?

Yes, through the bulky item collection run by Veolia. It costs £20 for up to four items and £10 for each extra item, to a limit of ten (£80 in all). Sofas and other upholstered pieces go with a separate team and can arrive a day later, and carpets have to be in a tied bag under 80 litres. Book it for a day or two before the clean so the cleaners can reach the floor.

Can a visitor permit cover a cleaner who drives?

If you live in a controlled zone, yes. Haringey sells virtual visitor permits by the hour or the day, with no more than two daily permits running at once. They work in resident and permit-holder bays, shared-use bays included, and never in bays marked pay-by-phone only.

Is a flat in a converted house priced differently from one in a block?

No. Regular and deep cleans are priced by the hour and moving-out cleans by the number of bedrooms, whatever the building. A maisonette with stairs inside it may need more than the 3-hour minimum on a regular visit, and we agree that with you on the call.

Send the postcode and the size of the home, and we will ring back with a day and a price.
