Over half of Canary Wharf households rent privately (53.6% at the 2021 Census) and 93.5% live in purpose-built blocks; a weekly cleaner for one of those flats is £23 an hour.
The minimum regular visit is three hours, so £69 a week, and fortnightly visits are £24 an hour. A one-off deep clean is £26 per cleaner-hour, plus £30 for equipment and detergents, from £186 for two cleaners over three hours. For a move-out the price is fixed: £156 for a studio, £207 for a one-bed, £243 for a two-bed and £339 for three bedrooms. Any one-off job starts at £67. Ovens, carpets and sofas are priced on the price list, and if a one-off clean has no free parking close by, we add the parking at what it costs on the day, never more than £40.
Towers, build-to-rent blocks and Wood Wharf
The ward is almost entirely flats: 96.0% of its 8,559 households, against 87.8% across Tower Hamlets, with terraced houses at 2.3%. Ownership is 21.0%, social renting 23.0% and shared ownership 2.4%, and next door in Blackwall & Cubitt Town private renting is similar at 51.8%.
Much of the renting is in large managed buildings. Vertus, the rental arm of Canary Wharf Group, runs four build-to-rent developments (10 George Street, 8 Water Street, Newfoundland and 50-60 Charter Street) with 1,893 flats between them. At Wood Wharf, the newest part of the estate, the group plans up to 3,600 homes on 23 acres, with 25% affordable housing on site. Its sale buildings include 10 Park Drive, One Park Drive and the loft-style 8 Harbord Square, and three more, 30, 50 and 65 Harbord Square, hold over 300 flats let at Tower Hamlets Standard Rents or at 80 per cent of local market rent.
The estate is private. Canary Wharf Management looks after 40 acres of roads, walkways, parks and open spaces, 4.9 km of public roads and 5.6 million sq ft of buildings. Beside it, the West India Dock conservation area, designated in November 1982, protects the surviving North Quay warehouses, some of them Grade I listed.
A Canary Wharf flat, room by room
In an open-plan flat the cleaner starts at the kitchen end: the hob, the worktops, the sink and the appliance fronts, then the dining table and the floor beneath it. Bathrooms follow. Thames Water’s 2025 reports for the Isle of Dogs South and Poplar supply zones give mean hardness of 261 and 272 mg/l, inside the company’s hard band, so shower glass and taps are descaled every time.
Bedrooms are dusted, beds made with the linen you leave out, and wardrobe doors and mirrors wiped. The living area comes last: shelves and window sills dusted, then the floors vacuumed and mopped on the way to the front door. A deep clean adds the inside of the kitchen cupboards and the fridge, the extractor hood, skirting boards and door frames, the grout and the window tracks.

Moving out, new flats, carpets and the oven
Tenants leaving a flat book the end of tenancy clean for Tower Hamlets at the fixed prices above. If the inventory clerk or letting agent marks something we cleaned, tell us within 48 hours and we return to put it right at no charge. The oven can go on the same booking for £31.
A flat handed over from new often has fine dust from the fit-out in cupboards, on sills and in the window tracks. That is an after builders clean, charged at £30 per cleaner-hour plus £32 for equipment and detergents, from £212.
Carpets in bedrooms are cleaned by hot water extraction from £36 a room through carpet cleaning in the borough, and usually dry within a few hours, depending on ventilation. An oven booked on its own is £77 for a single and £110 for a double with oven cleaning; the racks and trays soak while the cavity and door glass are cleaned by hand, and the oven is usable that evening.
Booking, building access and parking
Send the form or ring 020 3734 1438 at any time. We ring back between 8am and 7pm, any day of the week, to agree the date and confirm the price for your flat, and a 50% deposit secures the booking, with the balance due once the clean is done. The cleaners we send are vetted and trained.
Because the estate and many of its buildings are privately managed, access is the thing to sort out first. Check with your building or estate team where a visiting cleaner signs in and where a car can stop to unload, and tell us when you book. The same goes for clearing furniture: the council’s bulky waste crew cannot get into many blocks, having no keys or fobs for the bin stores, so residents are told to ask the concierge, caretaker or housing manager where to leave items.
On council streets nearby, Zone D covers Poplar and Crossharbour, with sub-zones D1 and D2 controlled Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm and cashless parking at £5.50 an hour (£8.50 for a diesel). The rest of the borough is covered on the Tower Hamlets page.

Canary Wharf cleaning questions
How does the cleaner get into a concierge building?
The way your building allows. Tell us whether the concierge lets visitors up, whether there is a door code, or whether you will be at home, and we pass it to the cleaner before the day.
I rent a build-to-rent flat. Can you do the move-out clean?
Yes. The end of tenancy clean is priced by bedrooms, from £156 for a studio, and if the inventory clerk or agent marks something we cleaned, tell us within 48 hours and we come back at no charge.
Where can the cleaner park on the estate?
Ask your building team, since the estate is privately managed and sets its own arrangements. On council streets in Zone D the bays cost £5.50 an hour (£8.50 for a diesel) during controlled hours.
Can you clean a new Wood Wharf flat before I move in?
Yes. Building dust in a new flat calls for an after builders clean, from £212, which covers cupboards, sills, tracks and floors before your furniture goes in.
Do prices differ between the towers and other E14 flats?
No. Regular and deep cleaning are charged by the hour and moving out by the number of bedrooms, the same in a tower as in a low-rise block.
Tell us the building and the number of bedrooms, and we will ring back with a price for your Canary Wharf flat.
