Tower Hamlets has dozens of conservation areas, yet 80.7% of its households live in purpose-built blocks of flats; a regular cleaner for one costs £23 an hour, three hours at least.
Fortnightly cleaning is £24 an hour. A deep clean is £26 per cleaner-hour plus £30 once for equipment and detergents, so the smallest one (two cleaners, three hours) is £186. Moving-out cleans have fixed prices by size, and one-off work starts at £67. Everything else is on the price list.

Licensing, parking permits and planning rules
Private renting is the largest tenure in Tower Hamlets at 38.2% of households, ahead of social renting at 35.9% (13.9% council, 22.0% other social landlords), ownership at 23.1% and shared ownership at 2.6%. The council’s additional licensing scheme covers the whole borough from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2029: any flat or house with three or more people from two or more households needs a licence. The selective scheme for Weavers, Whitechapel and Spitalfields & Banglatown wards ended on 30 September 2026 and takes no new applications, although licences already issued stay valid for up to five years. An Article 4 direction also means turning a house or flat into a small HMO now needs planning permission.
Parking is organised into four parent zones: A around Bethnal Green, B around Bow, C around Shadwell and Stepney, and D around Poplar and Crossharbour. Most sub-zones are controlled Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm, with exceptions. Cashless on-street parking costs £5.50 to £6.80 an hour for a standard vehicle and £8.50 to £10.20 for a diesel, and the council’s charges page says the rates changed on 21 September 2026. Residents can buy a one-day visitor voucher for £3.90, but landlords who do not live at the address cannot. Contractor permits, for building work, repairs and maintenance, start at £544 for three months.

Regular, deep and end of tenancy cleaning from E1 to E14
A regular clean covers the kitchen and bathroom first, then dusting, beds and floors through the rest of the home. Limescale is part of every visit: Thames Water’s 2025 reports for its Bethnal Green, Whitechapel, Poplar, Stepney, Bow and Isle of Dogs South supply zones give mean hardness between 261 and 276 mg/l, all in the hard band of 200 to 300 mg/l. A deep clean goes inside cupboards, the fridge and the extractor hood, along skirting boards and door frames, into the window tracks and the grout. Our cleaners are vetted and trained, and they bring the equipment and products; you keep the water and electricity on.
Tenants moving out book the end of tenancy clean in Tower Hamlets. If the inventory clerk or letting agent marks something we cleaned, tell us within 48 hours and we come back to put it right at no charge. Carpets are cleaned by hot water extraction from £36 a bedroom with carpet cleaning in the borough, and a single oven is £77 through oven cleaning, its racks and trays soaked while the inside is cleaned by hand.
Old furniture needs planning before a move-out clean. The council gives residents two free bulky waste collections a year of up to five items, which must be left outside at ground-floor level, never on a landing, balcony or basement.
To book, send the form or ring 020 3734 1438 at any hour. We ring back between 8am and 7pm, seven days a week, to agree the date and confirm the price; a 50% deposit secures it and the rest is paid after the clean.

Tower Hamlets cleaning questions
Does my Tower Hamlets landlord need a licence?
If three or more people from two or more households share the home, yes: the additional licensing scheme covers every ward until 31 March 2029. The old selective scheme in Weavers, Whitechapel and Spitalfields & Banglatown closed to new applications on 30 September 2026.
Can I give the cleaner one of my visitor vouchers?
Residents can, at £3.90 for a one-day voucher. Landlords and owners who do not live at the address are not eligible, so on a landlord’s clean between tenancies the cleaner uses a pay bay instead.
We have had building work done. Can you clean up after the builders?
Yes, with an after builders clean at £30 per cleaner-hour plus £32 for equipment and detergents, from £212. Book it once the trades have finished; builders working in the borough park on their own contractor permits.
Do you clean houses as well as flats here?
Yes. Houses are about one home in eight in Tower Hamlets, most of them terraces. They usually need more than the three-hour minimum on a regular visit, and moving-out prices go by the number of bedrooms.
Which postcodes count as Tower Hamlets?
E1, E1W, E2, E3 and E14 are the core, and parts of E8, E9, E15 and E20 cross into the borough too. The prices are the same across all of them.
Tell us the postcode, the type of home and the bedrooms, and we will ring back with a price for your Tower Hamlets clean.
