Grandparents and a small boy laughing on the sofa of a 1930s semi-detached house

Around Hounslow West most homes are inter-war and early post-war houses of two storeys, terraced or semi-detached. A regular cleaner for one costs £23 an hour, with 3 hours the shortest visit.

Across the whole borough there are more flats: 45.8% of Hounslow households lived in one at the 2021 Census, most of them in purpose-built blocks (37.4%), with 28.6% in semis and 20.5% in terraced houses. The visit below is for a semi; in a flat with no stairs inside, the same hours go further.

A weekly visit to a Hounslow semi, hour by hour

The first hour goes on the kitchen. The cleaner clears and wipes the worktops, cleans the hob and the splashback behind it, descales the sink and taps, wipes the cupboard doors and appliance fronts where hands touch them, empties the bins and mops the floor.

The second hour is the bathroom, plus a downstairs toilet if the house has one. Hounslow Council names Thames Water as the water utility to call, and Thames Water says all the water in its region is hard, so the shower screen, the taps and the shower head get descaled every week while the scale is still thin.

The third hour covers the stairs, the landing and the bedrooms: dusting, beds made, carpets hoovered from the top step down and hard floors mopped last. In a three-bedroom semi that is tight, so you can set a rota where the bedrooms take turns, or book four hours.

A deep clean of the same house is a different day. Two cleaners, usually for five or six hours, work through the inside of emptied cupboards, door tops, skirting, radiators, grout and the floor behind anything that can be moved. The team brings the equipment and products, and you keep the water and electricity on.

Hounslow prices

Weekly cleaning is £23 an hour and fortnightly £24, so the shortest weekly visit comes to £69. Deep cleaning is £26 per cleaner-hour plus £30 for equipment and detergents, from £186 for two cleaners over three hours, and one-off work has a £67 minimum. Where there is no free parking, a one-off clean has street parking added at the day’s cost, up to £40. All prices are on the price list.

Moving-out cleans are fixed by size, from £156: see end of tenancy cleaning in Hounslow. If the inventory clerk or the letting agent marks something we cleaned, tell us within 48 hours and we come back at no charge to put it right. Carpets are cleaned by hot water extraction from £36 a bedroom (carpet cleaning), and a single oven is £77, cleaned by hand in your kitchen (oven cleaning).

Visitor permits and shared-house licences

Hounslow’s controlled zones show their hours on the boards at each entry, and the bays inside can be resident, shared-use pay and display, business, loading or limited waiting. A resident in a zone can apply for visitor permits on a paper form, posted or emailed to the permits team. Each permit gives 30 one-hour sessions for twenty-eight pounds fifty, and a household can have up to ten in 12 months. Because the form goes by post or email, send it well before the first clean if you want the cleaner to use one.

Shared houses have needed a licence across the borough since 11 December 2025, when additional HMO licensing began for homes with three or more people from two or more households; the scheme runs until 10 December 2030, and mandatory licensing continues for five or more. A licence normally lasts five years, though the council can issue one for a single year where it has concerns about management or condition. An unlicensed landlord cannot serve a section 21 notice while the HMO stays unlicensed.

Chiswick, Isleworth and the rest of the borough

The council publishes 29 conservation area appraisals, from Bedfont Green and Spring Grove to Isleworth Riverside, Strand on the Green and Hounslow Cavalry Barracks. Chiswick has its own page with its conservation areas and parking.

Its appraisal of Hounslow West describes an area dominated by Heathrow, economically and in noise, with particularly high levels of aircraft noise, large trading estates to the west and the town centre about a kilometre east along Bath Road. The Piccadilly line runs through Hounslow East and Hounslow Central (zone 4) to Hounslow West (zone 5), with Osterley on the same line, and South Western Railway stops at Hounslow, Isleworth, Brentford and Syon Lane.

Booking a clean in Hounslow

Send the form with your postcode, or ring 020 3734 1438 whenever suits you. We call back between 8am and 7pm, seven days a week, to agree the date and check the price against the home. Questions about cleaning in Hounslow

Does parking change on Twickenham Stadium event days?

For some streets, yes. The council issues a separate Zone R permit for event days at the stadium, so if your clean falls on one, tell us when we ring and we plan the arrival around it.

Will the council collect furniture from a flat?

Yes, from a communal area. The bulky waste service costs forty-one pounds for up to five items (seventy-two pounds for landlords), is booked by phone and runs Monday to Friday from 7am to 3pm. Anything else can go to the Space Waye Reuse and Recycling Centre in Feltham, which takes bookings in advance.

Do you cover Brentford, Isleworth and Osterley?

Yes, the whole borough: TW3, TW4, TW5, TW7, TW8 and W4, and the Hounslow parts of TW1, TW2, TW6, TW13, TW14 and UB2.

How long does a deep clean of a three-bedroom semi take?

Usually five to six hours with two cleaners, so ten to twelve cleaner-hours at £26 each plus £30 for the equipment. Limescale left for years or a kitchen used every day adds time, and we agree the hours on the call.

Can I have the same cleaner every week?

We keep the same cleaner on your visits wherever we can, and tell you before the day if holidays or illness mean sending cover.

Send the form or ring 020 3734 1438, and we will price your Hounslow clean on the call.
