A man relaxing in an armchair in a Victorian terraced house with a period fireplace

Twickenham Riverside is mostly flats (59.7% of households); West Twickenham is mostly houses, with flats at 25.9%. A weekly cleaner costs £23 an hour in either, and three hours is the shortest visit.

The prices are the same across the town. Fortnightly cleaning is £24 an hour, and a three-hour weekly visit comes to £69. For a deep clean you pay £26 per cleaner-hour, with two cleaners for three hours or more and £30 for their equipment, so the smallest is £186. Any one-off job starts at £67. If there is no free parking near you, we add what the street parking costs on the day to a one-off clean, never more than £40. The price list has the moving-out, carpet and oven prices.

Riverside flats, Victorian villas and Edwardian red brick

Across the four Twickenham wards 41.0% of households live in flats, 29.3% in terraced houses and 23.2% in semis, and 64.7% own their home. Only 7.0% rent socially. Private renting clusters by the river: 36.9% of Twickenham Riverside households rent privately, about double the 18.6% in West Twickenham.

Twickenham Riverside conservation area has the medieval village core around St Mary’s church, Georgian and early Victorian streets cut through by narrow alleys, eighteenth century villas on the river and, at Lebanon Park, Edwardian red brick houses running down towards the Thames. Cambridge Park has Victorian and Edwardian houses on Sandycombe Road, red brick houses with terracotta panels on Norman Avenue and Italianate villas of three or four storeys in gault brick around a triangular green. Twickenham Green is ringed by Victorian villas, among them the stuccoed Apsley Villas of the 1840s, and has seen relatively little modern building.

A villa of three or four storeys means stairs between every floor, so for those we agree the hours on the call.

The kitchen, the bathroom and the rest of the house

Each regular visit starts in the kitchen, where the worktops, hob, splashback, sink and cupboard fronts are cleaned and the floor mopped, and then moves to the bathroom: toilet, basin, bath or shower, mirror and tiles. Richmond Council says Thames Water supplies the borough, and Thames Water says all its water is hard, so the taps and the screen are descaled each time. The last hour goes on dusting, making beds and the floors, working down the house to the hall.

Where three hours cannot reach every room of a terraced house or a semi, the bedrooms rotate and the kitchen and bathroom are done every visit. The same cleaner comes back each week wherever we can arrange it.

A deep clean takes the house further: inside emptied cupboards and wardrobes, the tops of doors, picture rails and frames, skirting boards, radiators, grout and the floor behind anything that can be moved. Two cleaners bring the equipment and products, and the water and power stay on.

Moving out, carpets and ovens across Richmond upon Thames

Twickenham is part of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, and the borough’s service pages carry the detail. An end of tenancy clean is a fixed price by the size of the home, from £156 for a studio to £339 for three bedrooms. If the inventory clerk or letting agent then marks something we cleaned, you have 48 hours to tell us and we put it right at no charge.

Carpet cleaning is by hot water extraction, priced by the room from £36, and a carpet usually dries in a few hours, faster with the windows open. Oven cleaning is £77 for a single oven: removable racks and trays are soaked, and the cavity, glass and seals are cleaned by hand in your kitchen, ready for cooking that evening.

Rugby days at the stadium, and booking

On Twickenham Stadium event days with crowds of 25,000 or more, the one-day Event Zone (R) applies from 11am to 11pm, covering a large number of roads when more than 30,000 are expected, and roads such as Rugby Road, Whitton Road and London Road can close for about 1.5 to 2 hours before and after. The council’s 2026 timetable lists England v Australia on Sunday 8 November, England v Japan on Saturday 14 November, England v New Zealand on Saturday 21 November and the Nations Cup Final weekend from 27 to 29 November, each expecting about 82,000 (the final weekend’s figure is still to be confirmed). Near the ground, a clean that finishes before 11am, or one on another day, is easier for everyone.

To book, send the form or ring 020 3734 1438 at any hour. We ring back between 8am and 7pm, seven days, to agree the date and confirm the price, and a 50% deposit secures it; the rest is due once the clean is done. The cleaners are vetted and trained. Over the borough boundary, Hounslow and Kingston have their own pages.

Twickenham cleaning questions

I live inside the Event Zone. Can my cleaner park on a match day?

Residents and businesses inside the zone can apply for free one-year permits for themselves and their visitors, so a visitor permit covers the cleaner. Permit holders in the Heatham, Cole Park and Whitton zones need nothing extra on event days.

Which parking zone is my street in?

The council lists every zone on its controlled zone times page. Central Twickenham (D) and West Twickenham (WT) run Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 6.30pm, South Twickenham (E) only 8.30am to 10.30am on weekdays, and East Twickenham (F), St Margarets South (S) and Strawberry Hill (SH) 10am to 4.30pm on weekdays. Bank holidays are free.

Do you clean the older houses near St Mary’s church and the river?

Yes. The Georgian and early Victorian houses, the riverside villas and the Edwardian houses at Lebanon Park take the same regular and deep cleans as anywhere else. Tell us about original floors or fireplaces when we ring.

Do you cover St Margarets, Strawberry Hill and Whitton?

Yes, all of TW1 and TW2 and the Twickenham parts of TW7 and TW13. Strawberry Hill and Whitton stations, like Twickenham, are in zone 5 on South Western Railway.

How long does a deep clean of a Twickenham terrace take?

For a two or three-bedroom terraced house, usually four to six hours with two cleaners. That is eight to twelve cleaner-hours at £26, plus £30 for the equipment.

Send the form with your Twickenham postcode, and we will ring back with the price and a date clear of the match days if you live near the ground.
