Around Paddington station three households in four live in purpose-built flats (74.9% at the 2021 Census); regular weekly cleaning of one is £23 an hour, and a deep clean starts at £186.
More than half of households in the area rent privately (53.6%, against 28.7% who own and 16.3% in social housing), so the other common job is the clean at the end of a tenancy, which has a fixed price by bedrooms from £156.
Paddington homes and how each is priced
| Home type | Share of households | What adds time | Regular visit | Moving out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flat in a purpose-built block | 74.9% | Lifts or stairs, entry systems, a shared bin room | A one-bed often fits the three-hour minimum (£69 weekly) | £156 studio, £207 one-bed, £243 two-bed |
| Flat in a converted or shared house | 9.5% | A shared stair and entrance, sometimes no lift | Three hours or a little more, at £23 an hour | £207 one-bed, £243 two-bed |
| Terraced house | 9.8% | Several floors and more than one bathroom | Usually past three hours, agreed on the phone | £339 three-bed, £425 four-bed |
The shares come from the Paddington and St George’s Fields Census area, about 3,979 households, which is a statistical area and not an official Paddington boundary. Across all three types, it is the stairs and the number of bathrooms more than the floor area that push the hours up. The smallest one-off booking is £67, and every figure sits on the price list.
Parking sub-zones and new homes around the station
Parking in Paddington changes from street to street. The council’s zone map puts the station, Paddington Basin, Westbourne Terrace and Praed Street in sub-zones B5 and B7, the Sussex Gardens and Hyde Park Estate streets in F1, and the streets round Paddington Green in B4. Under the March 2026 table, paid bays and single yellow lines in B5, B7 and F1 are controlled from 08:30 to 18:30 Monday to Saturday; resident bays run from 08:30 to 20:30 every day in B5 and 24 hours a day in B7 and F1. The map is old, so the street sign is the final word.
The zone decides the trade permit price: £38.10 a day in zone B and £68.30 in zone F, valid only in the zone bought. On a street that borders two zones, Westminster says the permit has to match the side of the road where the vehicle parks, and parking on the other side can bring a Penalty Charge Notice. Paddington itself is outside the Congestion Charge zone, which is edged by Marylebone Road and Park Lane.
The area is also growing. Westminster’s City Plan sets a target of at least 1,000 new homes and 13,000 new jobs for the Paddington Opportunity Area, and a newly finished flat needs an after builders clean before anyone moves in: £30 per cleaner-hour plus £32 for equipment and detergents, from £212. Older streets sit alongside: the Paddington Green conservation area is centred on St Mary’s church (1788 to 1791), and the church and a short terrace to its west are the only eighteenth century buildings left there. Neighbouring Bayswater has its own page, and the city as a whole is on the Westminster page.
The clean itself, from weekly visits to moving out
Regular cleaning is £23 an hour weekly or £24 fortnightly, three hours at a time, which comes to £69 for a weekly visit. The cleaner does the kitchen surfaces and sink, the bathroom, the dusting and the floors, and gives the taps and glass extra time, because Thames Water rates every supply in its area as hard water. Deep cleans cost £26 per cleaner-hour plus £30 once for kit and detergents, and add the inside of cupboards and the fridge, skirting, door frames and grout.
Where there is nowhere free to park for a one-off job, we add the cost of a street bay on the day, never more than £40. Tenants moving out get one extra with the end of tenancy clean: should the inventory check flag anything we cleaned, let us know within 48 hours and a cleaner returns to sort it at no charge. Carpets are hot water extraction priced by the room (carpet cleaning), and a single oven is £77, cleaned by hand in your kitchen and ready that evening (oven cleaning).
On rubbish, Westminster asks homes without a front garden to put black bags and clear recycling bags on the pavement at the property boundary, while mansion blocks and estates often keep bins in dedicated rooms. Tell us which applies and the cleaner will leave the bags in the right place.

Questions about cleaning in Paddington
Which parking zone is my Paddington street in?
Most streets round the station are in sub-zones B5 and B7, Sussex Gardens and the Hyde Park Estate are in F1, and Paddington Green is in B4, going by the council’s zone map. That map dates back years, so check the sign at the end of your street.
Is Paddington inside the Congestion Charge zone?
No. TfL’s map shows Paddington station outside the zone, whose edge here runs along Marylebone Road and Park Lane, so no daily charge applies to a clean in W2 around the station.
Can you clean a new-build flat before I move in?
Yes. That is an after builders clean, at £30 per cleaner-hour plus £32 for equipment and detergents, from £212. It deals with the fine dust that fitting-out leaves on every surface, inside cupboards and along skirting.
Do Paddington landlords need a licence?
Hyde Park ward, where the station is, falls in Westminster’s selective licensing Designation 2, and Little Venice and Westbourne wards are in Designation 1, all from 24 November 2025. The additional HMO scheme, renewed from 31 August 2026, covers homes shared by at least three people from more than one household.
Do you clean the stucco houses on Westbourne Terrace and Sussex Gardens?
Yes. Those streets belong to the Bayswater conservation area, laid out in 1827 between Praed Street, Edgware Road and Bayswater Road, and much of it is stucco terraced houses. Whether it is a whole house or one flat inside it, tell us the floors and the bathrooms and we price the hours to match.
Give us the street and the size of the flat or house, and you will get a call back with the price for your Paddington clean.
