Nine in ten Westminster households live in a flat (89.8% at the 2021 Census), and a weekly cleaner for one costs £23 an hour for a three-hour visit, with deep cleans from £186.

We cover the whole city, from the W1 and SW1 postcodes to W2, W9 and NW8. Cleaners are vetted and trained, they work from 8am to 7pm seven days a week, and nobody arrives until the price has been agreed with you on the phone.

Westminster cleaning prices

A regular cleaner is £23 an hour on a weekly rota and £24 an hour fortnightly. Every visit is at least three hours, which puts a weekly clean at £69. Deep cleans are charged by the cleaner-hour at £26, plus £30 once for the equipment and detergents we bring; two cleaners for three hours is the smallest booking and comes to £186.

Moving out has fixed prices by size: £156 for a studio, £207 for one bedroom, £243 for two, £339 for three and £425 for four. Any one-off job starts at £67, and carpets, upholstery and ovens are all on the price list.

Where a one-off job has nowhere free to park, we add what the street bay costs on the day, never more than £40. Mayfair, Soho, Whitehall and the part of Marylebone south of Marylebone Road are inside the Congestion Charge zone, and for one-off work there the daily charge is already part of the price we quote.

Blocks of flats, conservation areas and licensing

Most of the city lives in purpose-built blocks: 70.2% of households at the Census, with another 16.1% in converted or shared houses. Terraced houses account for 7.2%, and detached and semi-detached homes for under 3%. Private renting is the largest tenure at 43.3%, ahead of social renting (28.3%) and ownership (27.4%), so the typical home a Westminster cleaner walks into is a rented flat in a block with a shared entrance and bin store.

Much of that stock is old. Westminster has 56 conservation areas covering over three quarters of the city, from Georgian and Victorian terraces to post-war estates and the Royal Parks, and the City Plan counts more than 11,000 listed buildings and structures. If a listed flat has old plasterwork or floors you want treated gently, mention it when you book.

Parking follows seven paid zones, A to G, and the daily trade permit price follows the zone: £21.60 in zone C (Harrow Road, Queen’s Park and the north of Maida Vale), £47.00 in zone A (Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Pimlico) and £65.20 in zone E (Mayfair and St James’s). Each district page goes into its own streets.

For landlords, selective licensing has covered most privately rented homes in 15 of the 18 wards since 24 November 2025. Pimlico South, St James’s and Vincent Square are left out, and a home already licensed as an HMO needs no second licence. The borough-wide additional HMO scheme, first brought in in 2021, was renewed from 31 August 2026 for five years; it covers homes where three or more people from two or more households share a kitchen or bathroom.

Kitchen and bathroom first, then the rest of the flat

On a regular visit the cleaner starts in the kitchen with the worktops and splashback, the hob, the sink, the unit and appliance fronts, and then the floor. The bathroom comes next, and in Westminster that means limescale. Thames Water usually supplies the city (some addresses have a private supply, and the water bill names the supplier), and it says all the water in its region is hard, so scale gathers on taps, shower glass and the toilet bowl between visits.

Bedrooms and living rooms are dusted from the top down, beds are made with any linen you leave out, and the floors are hoovered and mopped last. In central Westminster, including every shopping street, rubbish bags may only go out in the 30 minutes before the scheduled collection, and bags put out once the collection has started may be left behind. Tell us where bagged rubbish should go (the bin room, your door, a bin store) and the cleaner leaves it there.

A deep clean, for the start of a rota or a flat that has slipped, adds the inside of cupboards and the fridge, skirting boards and door frames, radiators, window tracks and the grout. We bring the kit; you keep the water and electricity on.

Tenancy cleans, carpets and ovens in the city

For tenants handing a flat back, the end of tenancy clean in Westminster is priced by bedrooms and carries one promise: if the inventory clerk or letting agent marks something we cleaned, tell us within 48 hours and we come back to put it right at no charge. Furniture that has to go before the move can be booked with the council, which collects up to six bulky items for one fee, aims to come within three working days and takes only what two people can lift safely.

Carpets are cleaned by hot water extraction, from £36 a bedroom and £43 a living room, and they usually dry in a few hours depending on how well the room is ventilated (see carpet cleaning in Westminster). A single oven is £77. Racks, trays and shelf supports soak while the cavity, glass and seals are done by hand in your kitchen, and the oven can be used that evening; oven cleaning has the other sizes.

Booking and parking a cleaner in Westminster

Send the form or ring 020 3734 1438, at any hour. We ring back to agree the date and check the price against the home, and a 50% deposit holds the date; the balance is paid once the clean is finished.

The council has taken its old street pay machines away, so a visitor pays in a pay-to-park bay through RingGo, PaybyPhone or JustPark, by phone, or with a scratch Parking Card sold at libraries. The other route is a daily trade permit: it is virtual, bought per vehicle per day, and in its own zone it covers resident bays from 8am to 5.30pm and paid and shared-use bays from 8.30am to 6.30pm. If your block has its own parking or a loading bay, put that on the form.

Questions about cleaning in Westminster

Is my Westminster address inside the Congestion Charge zone?

TfL’s map puts Mayfair, Soho, Whitehall and Marylebone south of Marylebone Road inside it. Paddington station, Bayswater and Pimlico are outside, and so are Maida Vale and St John’s Wood, north of the zone’s edge on Marylebone Road. The Ultra Low Emission Zone is different: it runs across the whole borough, 24 hours a day, every day except Christmas Day.

Can the cleaner use my visitor parking permit?

Westminster has no on-street visitor permit scheme, so there is nothing to hand over. The cleaner pays in a pay-to-park bay by app, by phone or with a Parking Card, and from March 2026 the pay-to-park bays in zones C to G are controlled from 08:30 to 18:30 (weekdays in C and D, Monday to Saturday in E, F and G).

Which Westminster wards are outside selective licensing?

Pimlico South, St James’s and Vincent Square. Designation 1 (Abbey Road, Church Street, Harrow Road, Knightsbridge and Belgravia, Little Venice, Maida Vale, Queen’s Park and Westbourne) and Designation 2 (Bayswater, Hyde Park, Lancaster Gate, Marylebone, Pimlico North, Regent’s Park and West End) both run from 24 November 2025 to 23 November 2030.

Do you clean houses here as well as flats?

Yes, though they are a small part of the city: terraced houses hold 7.2% of households. A house takes longer because of the stairs and extra bathrooms, so a regular visit may run past three hours, and we agree the hours with you when we ring back.

How hard is the water in Westminster?

Thames Water says all the water in its region is hard, and it counts 200 to 300 mg/l of calcium carbonate as hard and anything above 300 as very hard. We have no reading for individual postcodes, so the cleaner treats every Westminster bathroom and kettle as a limescale job.

Give us the postcode and the number of bedrooms, and we will ring back with a price for your Westminster clean.
