Nine in ten Woolwich Arsenal households live in flats (90.1%), and a weekly cleaner for a flat there, or anywhere in SE18, costs £23 an hour for at least 3 hours.

That makes the shortest weekly visit £69; fortnightly visits are £24 an hour. A deep clean starts at £186, which is two cleaners for three hours at £26 each per hour plus £30 for the equipment they bring. One-off jobs start at £67. Should your street have no free parking, we add the day’s parking cost, up to £40. The price list has the rest.

Woolwich homes compared

Across the Woolwich Arsenal, Woolwich Common and Woolwich Dockyard wards, three households in four live in flats. The table sets each kind of home against what a regular clean and a move-out clean cost.

Woolwich Common has the lowest share of flats of the three, 57.0%, with 29.3% terraced houses. Across all three, 33.1% of households rent privately, 40.4% rent from a social landlord and only 22.8% own.

Local factors in SE18

The council says the Royal Arsenal site will have over 5,000 new homes by 2030, and Woolwich Works is reusing historic riverside buildings for cultural and creative uses.

Three of Woolwich’s parking zones are controlled every day. Woolwich Arsenal (WA), Woolwich Common (WB) and Woolwich Market (WM) all run Monday to Sunday, 8.30am to 6.30pm, while Woolwich Dockyard (WD) is controlled only on weekdays, 9am to 5pm. Visitor vouchers in the WA and WM zones are listed at £13.50 for five half-day vouchers, and the council sells a weekly tradesperson permit as well.

Licensing is in flux. Royal Greenwich’s selective scheme for homes let to single households has covered central Woolwich and Plumstead from 1 October 2022, and smaller shared houses have needed an additional HMO licence across the borough from 1 January 2024. The proposed replacement would take in Woolwich Common, Woolwich Dockyard and the southern part of Woolwich Arsenal; the consultation closed on 12 October 2026 and no decision has been made. The Royal Greenwich page covers the rest of the borough.

Woolwich has an Elizabeth line station in fare zone 4, and Woolwich Arsenal station adds the DLR, Southeastern and Thameslink. The TfL-run Woolwich Ferry, free for vehicles and foot passengers, crosses to North Woolwich.

Regular, deep and move-out cleaning in Woolwich

A regular cleaner in a Woolwich flat works through the kitchen, the bathroom and the living space on each visit: surfaces and the hob, the sink, bath and toilet, dusting, hoovering and the hard floors. The same cleaner comes each time where we can manage it.

A deep clean suits a flat you are moving into, a housing association home at the start of a tenancy or a place that has slipped behind: cupboards inside, skirting, door frames, the extractor, the fridge and the limescale. Water in the Abbey Wood supply zone, which Thames Water’s lookup gives for an SE18 address in Woolwich Arsenal ward, ranged from 254 to 284 mg/l in 2025 and averaged 269, inside the company’s hard band.

When a tenancy ends, the end of tenancy clean is fixed by size. If the inventory clerk or the agent flags something we cleaned, tell us within 48 hours and we go back to put it right at no charge. Carpets are cleaned by hot water extraction at £36 a bedroom, and a single oven is £77, cleaned by hand in your kitchen and ready for use the same evening.

To book, send the form or phone 020 3734 1438, which you can do at any hour; we are open 8am to 7pm, seven days. We call back to set the date and check the price for your flat or house; a 50% deposit secures it and the remainder is paid when the clean is done. Leave the water and electricity on.

Woolwich cleaning questions

Do you clean flats in the Royal Arsenal blocks?

Yes. When we ring back, tell us the block and the floor, how visitors get in and any lift or loading rules your building has.

My housing association flat needs a clean before I move in. Can you do it?

Yes. A deep clean of the empty flat, two cleaners for three hours, is £186 with the equipment included, and a bigger home can book more hours. Social renting is 40.4% across Woolwich and 55.7% in Woolwich Dockyard, and the price is the same whoever the landlord is.

How do I clear old furniture from a block flat before the clean?

Royal Greenwich’s bulky waste service charges £13.82 an item and wants items out by 6am on the booked day. It will not collect from a locked bin room or a gated car park unless you give a code, so sort out access first.

Do you cover Plumstead and the rest of SE18?

Yes, all of SE18, plus the Woolwich parts of SE7, SE2 and SE28.
